I'm flat out stating that the offense works better with Yates than it does with Hoyer because that's what we've seen this season when they've played against the same defense.
Not to mention the Jets game was the first time they really pulled out the wild-cat plays. And it worked. The team needed it that day.
And I'm telling you that stats don't back your story up. Yates had one good drive against the Bengals but was worse than Hoyer the rest of the game.
Really? So what's more important completion percentage or getting the damn ball in the end zone? I don't give a damn that Hoyer completed a higher percentage of his dink and dunk BS that didn't get the team into the end zone. I care about his interception and I care about Yates' TD pass that gave the team the lead.
And that worked because the Jets weren't ready for it. Realy dissapointed that it was an integral part of the gameplay tonight. Any decent defense can stop the wildcat if they've scouted it.
Yes, that's his one impressive accomplishment in his entire career and unfortunately it didn't result in a win. Of course, that's pretty clearly an outlier in a career of crap rather than something you can hope for in the future. Tonight, he single handedly shut down Nuk and was a large part of the Texans losing to the Pats in a game where the defense did a really good job....maybe he was trying to get revenge on them for failing him in the Bills game. Either way, it doesn't matter, when it really comes down to it, if you need to get into the end zone you go Yates and not Hoyer.
So Hoyer equalled Yates 2-game total in just one game. And he has the Texans record for most 3 TD games in a season. How's that for "getting it into the endzone"? I wish Hoyer took more chances and threw to Hopkins even when covered. But his job is to find the open receiver and he does more often than not. I'm not defending Hoyer. I've never really liked him and hated the signing but he's the best QB this team has now. There's a reason Yates couldn't even keep a backup job at Atlanta and in Houston.
That's not how it works. None of that means anything because when they needed Hoyer to get the offense moving and get in the end zone tonight, he was completely worthless. Now there were plenty of opportunities for it to happen, he just wasn't a good enough QB to make it happen. Honestly, Hoyer is one of the worst QB's in the NFL and he showed it yet again tonight.
I don't think anyone disagrees that he is one of the worst starting QBs in the league. He's just not worse than Yates and Mallett.
And that's not what I'm saying, he's not just one of the worst starting QB's, he's one of the worst QB's in the league even including backups. If you picked at random a backup QB from any team, I wouldn't guarantee that Hoyer would do better....and I don't think anyone could.
I do disagree with it. The Texans got their 2 most impressive wins of the season with Yates at QB and they wouldn't have won those games with Hoyer and I still think Mallett is better than Hoyer even if only slightly.....he's just not as good at being on time and being BOB's friend.
It's fine, you can keep your Mallet poster up in your room despite your Mom telling you it's embarassing. I'm just going to assume you have a mental condition at this point.
The Texans got their two most impressive wins because the defense played its best game and they pulled out the wildcat for the first tine this season. They needed trick posts on offense because they were playing with a mediocre QB. Saying they wouldn't bhave won with Yates is only your opinion and is not respecting hoe good this defense is. I guess Mallet isn't Harbaugh's friend either. Or any of the other coaches that could have had him for free.
This is the worst possible game a QB could ever play...well he's not throwing pick 6s but close to the worst.......a steaming pile of poop
