    I remember it
I cannot say I was a great fan of his [not in a bad way but in the way that i only knew him in passing as another player on another team]
but i knew him . .. respected him
he seemed to be a godo guy
never stood out as dirty player or nothing
    hard worker

I felt for him and his family
    and still do

Really liked him as a player.

Rockets are/were my favorite team of course, but I really enjoyed those Hornet teams in the Rice and slightly post-Rice eras.

I can personally echo what an awesome person David Wesley is. When he was at Baylor, he found me shooting baskets by myself during a break at basketball camp. He came and challenged an 12-year-old kid to a game of 1-on-1 and nearly let me win, giving me tips along the way. I saw him again at a UT game about 12 years later and he was extremely gracious. What an awful thing to have to live with.

Good read. Thanks for sharing. I wasn't very familiar with his story before reading this.
