According to someone who shall remain nameless 35 year olds don't contribute to the NBA and Bobby Jackson is useless because he's 35 years old.
The summaries of Rafer and BJ are much appreciated. Clutch could spoil us with those. I hope they become a regular feature. Thanks to Clutch.
We can thank Adelman for his small line-up. Last night closing the game was Rafer and Bobby. I don't see any problem with that line up.
yeah I noticed that too. there's a definite cadence to when his teammates pass to yao. they sort of stop and hold it out to show him the ball before they toss it into him in the paint. obviously that's developed over the years, to compensate for yao's slow reactions and handles last night bobby definitely didn't do that, he was always in motion. but he didn't make many passes into yao. you hope that one thing bobby jackson can bring to this team is working with yao to help integrate him better into RA's system. it's far from a given that yao will be able to adapt but aside from brooks, if yao can learn more of the system from bobby that will be a plus for the team one thing that really stands out about yao as opposed to past centers in RA's system is that there's very little motion to ball movement with yao. aside from set plays/pick and rolls, it's Yao standing there in the paint waiting for a pass or at the top of the key waiting to make a pass... which everyone in the building, the opposing team, your grandma can anticipate. more fluidity from him would mean even more motion and ball movement for the rockets
I think one thing that BJ will bring is accelerate this motion offence that the Rockets have had so much trouble picking up. The person to benefit most I think is Battier. He will pick up all those nifty cuts that give him free baskets and so forth. Im sure Yao and Mcgrady + Rafer and BJ will be good enough assist men to make use of the system. Just the runners need to learn those cuts. Seems like the Rox had heaps of problems picking it up and now BJ will accelerate their development
I am not surprised he did not pass many times to Yao. He said it himself. He is still learning about our players, when to pass to them and when not to, when they need a pass, etc.
