The last two games that Sura has played have been on television. Did you get to check out what he offers? I like the easy baskets he creates. I haven't seen game to game easy baskets in a while. The Sura point guard experiment seems to be working lately. I think it will in the future too. The guy just had to play back into NBA shape after his surgery. Anybody change their mind yet? He's changed mine.
Outside of Tracy McGrady, Sura is the team MVP. I think what he brings to the Rockets is very similar to what Jim Jackson brought to the team last year. Unfortunately he could not sustain that type of effort through to this year. Since Sura came off the injured list, the Rockets are 13-9, and they lost the first two games that he was back, since he was probably not in game shape yet. So since Sura has been in game shape, the Rockets are 13-7.

I'm not sure I'd defend Sura as a "shooting" guard, since his shooting most nights is pretty unreliable. But before he was healthy enough to play for us, our roster was dying for grit, hustle, perimeter defense, and the aggression to penetrate. When Sura got on the court, he gave us all four. That's what you call a chemistry no-brainer.
I,for one,am pleasantly surprised at Bobby's play.His decision making seems better than in the past.Perhaps his injury(slowing him down),and playing on his best team since college have helped his game. Whatever it is,I'm impressed.
If he is not a PG then he does a pretty good job impersonating one. I am impressed with his ball handling ability, he handles the ball as well or better than our last PG Steve F. What he may lack in PG skills he makes up with rebounding, hustle, defense, if his knees hold up he should keep the job. As much as I like AB, he is too small.
I'll take a guy who hustles every minute on the court over a talented-but-indifferent star every night of the week. He reminds me in some ways of Mario Elie or Vernon Maxwell, minus the baggage.
A Healthy Bob Sura would make us an even better team. If he had come in healthy from the start of this season I really believe we would be seeded 5th right now. Sura is adequate and at times his energy carries and leads the team and that is with a very bad knee and not being fully recovered from back surgery. The guy is a warrior like we have needed for a long time. Throw out the stats, he is a difference maker. (that is a JVG term)
I completely agree, which is why I think they've got to find a way to get him some rest now even if it means struggling for a few games. I love how he is able to play through the pain, but it would be a shame to use him all up now. I want him there at the end of the year.
No, I dind't feel silly at all. Thank you! I am not bashing sura to start this thread. He is great at hustle, board, and toughness. Everyone knew that, and I am happy he can make a career high last night. However, as many people said, he is not a good shooter, you can't expect him to shoot 7/8 3's day in and day out. I still think he is not a very good general on the floor. His defense is average if he doesn't fall in easy foul trouble. That is what I am talking about. We can't ask too much for a role player. So Sura is a good pick this year. But in the long run, I don't think we should leave most of the ball handling and distribution tasks to T-mac. We still need a pure pg to find the open man, to penetrate and pass out, and to organize effective fast-breaks.

With Sura back, we have scored 11.2 fastbreak points a game.
How many people said that about the Detroit Pistons players. Sometimes you have to look beyond stats and "traditional" players.
He's A poor 3 point shooter? You got it wrong man hes just inconsistant he can shoot the three ball when hes open last game he hit 6-7 of three balls.
i think sura's contributions cant be measured by his numbers. actually i think any numbers he puts up are simply a bonus of what he brings to the team night in and night out. his toughness and desire to persue the ball, the fact he is playing hurt, i think that can do no less than bring out toughness and desire in his teammates.
