i have heard the same, although in my limited interactions with him he seemed ok. not a fan at all, but i will say that dude has paid his dues over the last 25 years or so going back to the joe rockhead days...he works hard at what he does. and its not like he has not "made it" - he has put out albums on major labels, performed on national tv (leno, ect) and tours the country. is he a huge pop star selling millions of records? no...but he does not have to have a "real job" and is able to do his thing on his own terms...in my book that qualifies as making it.
