Mr. McNair is working hard on it.

He has instructed his Secretary to get a copy of this, as soon as it hits newstands, and highlight important, relevant passages.

Rick prefers the term Administrative Assistant.

The most obvious was he didn't say "we have to make improvements at GM!"

post of the year (yes its still a relatively new year)

people are starting to catch up on mcnair and the reality of what we are really up against. the disappointing part is we are in for a nuclear winter since his son go see cal is up next. we are basically going to win on accident in perpetuity.

they are the play it safe boys and frankly this sucks to know this.

reminds me of this place I worked where they switched from spiral notebooks to notepads with spiral to save money.

    'but but but salary cap!!'

you can still be cheap, not sign best player because you have #1 pick, but do so due to 'signability'-

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fQI4VYb6iGM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

you can be cheap by never having top paid coach but always having sellouts and raide ticket prices - http://www.khou.com/story/sports/2015/01/16/texans-ticket-prices-will-increase-in-2015/21899991/

you can be cheap by holding on to guys like casserly , smith, capers all way past their due. you call it loyalty? its called being cheap.

of course there is shady stuff going on to with raising parking prices while getting city to build parking and triple dipping by getting money on the loan to the city

    http://m.chron.com/news/houston-tex...-sports-agency-seeks-help-on-loan-1615745.php

sounds like the real kind of touchdown this guy is going for. printing money this dude in a 14 year zone!!

they are high fiving themselves. the gullibility and wanton over sight and head in the sand of everyone in houston on this is really eye opening for me. I periodically watch due to being here and local nfl team, but I hate this mentality of cheapness. its a crying shame. we really deserved better and I shudder to hear who what palms were greased for this sleaze bucket to even get a hold of this team. total sham.

'but but he paid for it!! but he saved houston!!' no I really just want to know how much bob lanier and his estate walked with. for mcnairs sake I hope he can take all that cheapass dough to the afterlife as well. this dude is literally a fans (and those that want to win at all costs) nightmare.

    total cheap. total scam.

    NUCLEAR WINTER

I will be honest. I just don't like the guy and every time he speaks up it makes me dislike him more. He has a mediocrity mentality. Just being decent is enough for him. The Texans need to luck into a franchise quarterback. It's not going to happen by design

    LOL, true

Fans need to accept baby steps.

Previously, if McNair even mentioned "quarterback".... it wouldn't be "college" ones.

That's just it, what he needs to say (do) he doesn't. Did you not expect him to say what he did?

yup. its getting to the point where I feel dirty everytime he speaks and want to take a shower. Im at the part where I wish we could be 2 nfl team town and try our chances with al davis spawn. at least there would be some tradition.

Some were probably wanting him to just cry and talk about how the team should just tank every season for the first overall pick and draft a QB again and again till they find a "franchise" QB, because nothing matters unless you have one.

Since he said something more realistic, some fans are sad about it.

Bob reminds me of O'B in the playoffs when he said he didn't care what the fans think he wasn't benching Hoyer. Bob doesn't care what the fans think, he still fills the seats and makes money hand over fist. Like Jerry Jones he's just a bullheaded business man where the ol mighty dollar is what matters and gets to feed his ego at the same time at the fans expense.

They shouldn't care what the fans think, fans are often stupid. That said, obviously the Hoyer decision was stupid so while you don't have to care what fans think, you really need to be better than that.

Honestly there's nothing at all wrong with what McNair said, it's actually 100% accurate.

Nothing wrong with what he said but it's just empty BS that doesn't mean diddly squat! Fans that buy his BS deserve what they get, a mediocre product that he is more than happy to give them.

I don't think it's BS honestly. They plan on targeting a QB in the draft and in FA, there's no way they can do worse than Hoyer and it really wouldn't take a superstar QB for the Texans to be a very good team.

I would hope so, I didn't expect him to say we're good at qb. The qb options he's talking about are probably in the Matt Cassel range.

The QB options he's probably talking about are RG3 or a drafted QB. Now sure this is a terrible QB class, but that didn't stop people a few years ago from wanting one with the overall top pick.....
