They are better. And you can't get much more Texan than Whataburger...or Dr Pepper. Best of all, Whataburger doesn't have AC condensation dripping into their shake machines.
I just ate some Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla (only BB worth buying) topping homemade fruit cobbler.... Not dead yet, still eat a bit. I've had surgeries at Baylor College Hospitals (Scott and White, etc)...not dead yet, still use them. (look into that one, it's horrific). How many things are we not going to use again?
This is still where I am. They literally killed people and tried like hell to gloss over it like it was no big deal. I'm totally cool with HEB ice cream. Love their Poteet Strawberry seasonal and Cookies over Texas flavors.
I got curious and watched it too. Just horrific indifference to the danger, pain, and suffering they created. Good thing I already knew Blue Bell was trash
HEB's Mexican Hot Chocolate is the best chocolate ice cream ever! Better than anything Blue Bell has put out.
I went to Italy a few months ago and got reminded of how much I like gelato. Bought some HEB coffee gelato and it has a good flavor but god honest truth has the consistency of sand. whoever approved that is an idiot.
What I can't figure out is why wouldn't you just buy vanilla ice cream and Dr Pepper (or Coke or root beer) and make your own? It has to be better than that pre-made stuff.
There was once a time when Jim Beam had a ready to drink 6pk cans of Jim Beam and Cola, before there were a million different options of ready to drink cans like there are now. I was curious about it, cause my mindset was the same as yours on 'why not just do it myself?', as I also had on this certain ice cream flavor. Well, I bought that 6pk and went home and drank them. They were ****ing delicious. Theres no way to make a whiskey and coke as good as they made theirs. I dont know what it was but it was just better. So my curiosity was again peaked with this, just this time it was a letdown.
I just spent 2 weeks visiting friends and family in Austin and Houston. Let me tell you one scoop of HEB’s Mexican Hot chocolate and one scoop of HEB’s Cinnamon Honey Sopapilla in one bowl is about as good as it gets. I’d be 500 lbs if I lived anywhere near an H‑E‑B.
Honey Sopapilla is great. Just be careful not to overfreeze it. It won't be as creamy and the bread chunks get super hard.
HEB does have good ice cream, I swore off buying Blue Bell. I really like Breyers to but it's so dam expensive anymore
