Hand hasn’t been great lately, too. As much as I enjoy watching Correa, I miss Adam Everett. I never cared about his bat. He was such a joy to watch play SS. How he knew where the ball was going to be before the batter even took the swing. So few ever that made it look as easy as him.
In Arkansas right now, watching the College WS. Razorbacks are experiencing some Houston-level blooper chokejob stuff. Ninth inning, 2 outs, on the verge of winning the series, and couldn't catch a pop-up with 3 players surrounding it. Now, they're losing. It ain't over yet, but wow.
I had so many arguments with freinds that would b**** about how useless Everett was. They would use the gold glove B.S. and man would it piss me off. Probably as aggravated as any baseball discussion ever made me. One of those friends also went on about how great Jeriome Robertson was gonna be because of his wins in 03. He was incensed when we traded him. Baseball talk did make journalism class more tolerable though.
I like my SS to be able to hit better than a good little leaguer. Good thing was I knew I could always take a bathroom break when Ausmus/Everrett/P were coming up to bat.
