^^^wtf, how did you get it today? I went and tried and the lady told me that sale was over and they were reg. price now, not BOGO free anymore. She said it ended yesterday. Did I get screwed?
i havent gone since monday i dont think the sale is over some stores though my friend was saying were denying the sale because the stores would be taking huge hits on their margin (i think most of the hd/blu discs are sold at very little margin) so selling them at half price would kill them. i know one friend who worked at a location here in so cal was told by his manager that if the person is buying more than 4 discs to say the limit was 4. just fyi
I went to CC by my work today and they didn't have the promo...The mgr. said he had a email from corp. to disc. the promo until further notice...he didn't get into the details, but I just told him, so you want me to go to Best Buy now and buy the same discs...He said yeah...So I am, after lunch..
I wouldn't hold my breath. Apparently, HD-DVD movies can also be produced a lot cheaper than Blu Ray. Additionally, HD-DVD discs can be produced using the same machinery as DVDs. Blu Ray would require completely retooling the factory.
folks over at avsforum are saying that the deal at circuit is dead unless you are shopping at one of their top 150 stores....the original bogo deal of disney blu-rays should be valid though still. good thing i at least got some deals in when i could
i cant wait until one of these formats dies so i can load up on cheap movies, and put them next to my my laserdiscs
I went to BB last night and picked some up...Some of the titles are crap, but I did pick up Apoclypto and The wild for the kids...CC was just doing the same titles as BB, so go check it out...
http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/18/sub-200-hd-dvd-players-just-around-the-bend/ Apparently, a $198 Toshiba HDA2-W has been noticed in Wal-Mart systems, and you won't color us surprised if it's joined by a few other name brand alternatives in time for the holiday rush.
Amazon's buy one get one free on the Disney/Buena Vista disks is a pretty good deal. I get 10% off of all HD disks, and it's taking that off the price before the cost of the 2nd disk is subtracted. $19.56 for 2 disks
just on select disney titles the only title on there that i really wanted was the prestige and the first pirates movie. theirs was an advertised sale so chances are your local BB maybe running low on stock of the movies that were in the ad
Uh, I went yesterday to CC and picked up 6 Blu Ray and 2 HD DVDs at the bogo. They didnt ring up at all at the right price, but the manager agree'd and they had an official CC listing on top of the Blu Ray disks claiming bogo. If anyone needs em, Ill hook ya up, send me cash and shipping costs...
Where do you live? Can you do a request for 2 movies? I'm looking for TMNT (ninja turtle) and Apocalypto for BluRay..
I'm getting Apocalypto and a free movie but can't decide on what to get. Has anyone seen PotC Deadmans Chest or PotC Curse of Black Pearl on Bluray? They're also offering Prestige amoung a few others. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.ht...0&ie=UTF8&plgroup=1&docId=1000146321&plpage=1 What's is the best movie offered here to go along with Apocalypto? Help!
All I got to say is this. They were running PoTC Dead Mans Chest on a 42 inch plasma through a PS3 and it was the single most amazing sequence of scenes ever. It almost seemed like it was 3d. But the bad thing was that it was sold out.
Sold out? They have the deal on Amazon (refer link above) So I take it as PotC Dead Man's chest is a keeper..?
