i agree with the blow it up concept. its time to start over. you can trade "ready to win" assets like scola, shane and martin for a combination of young players and picks. play the lotto until you get a superstar then try to build a winner around him. right now the team is constantly trying to plug holes on a sinking ship. plugging the holes leads to perpetual mediocrity. i'd rather just start over and have a chance at a championship again.
I think you're just going to have to suffer until the trade deadline. I don't think anybody will be making big deals until then. So, watch some football for awhile. Right after the Superbowl, you'll have all the deadline trades, then we can pick out the college players we like in March Madness, and then we can root for the ping-pong balls to bounce our way in the closing months of the season. If you think the team's already sunk, there's no point in watching right now. As our best player, he's the biggest guy standing between us and the #1 pick.
I would trade anyone except Martin and Yao. Scola to OKC for James Harden sounds like an awesome idea. HOWEVER, dont break this up. my idea is: we trade everyone and anyone except Martin and Yao for anyone and everyone trade battier hayes budinger lee hill miller jefferies patterson picks for anyone decent we can get keep brooks and lowry tho.
serious about keeping yao? he got injured after 7 games, come on, its the same as the t-mac situation we should try to trade him for some team that wants the money and visibility he brings ps: I like yao, but its since 2004 we are getting s ****** with injuries
yes, we should keep yao. because first, our owner would never trade him, and second, what can you get for yao? hes injured, but so is andrew bynum. we should be good enough to win without him.
Lol. Oh, and don't forget to keep Scola too. And, the rookie contracts, and the intangibles guys. But, still no problem with trading Brad Miller. I don't know why people would want to make any reservations if we were really to blow the thing up. Yao's a huge risk right now. Martin has his good points, but also some big weaknesses. Same with Brooks and Lowry. We don't have a Chris Paul or John Wall or Dwayne Wade that you hold onto at all costs.
I don't understand this recent theme of blaming injuries. They haven't been significant. Yao only just went down -- and in his case, I would say injuries have to be counted in your evaluation of the team since they were so likely in the first place given his surgery. Brooks' injury is significant, but so far you can only pin 2 losses, at most, on that. And Lowry was out with a minor ailment. Every team will lose a rotation guy for a couple of games to a nuisance problem. Nothing unusual about that. Besides all that, the one supposed strength this team had despite not having a true franchise player, is that it had great depth. 10-deep, at least. That the back-ups were hardly a step down from the starters. You should be able to survive injuries with a roster like that.
Why would you keep Scola and Martin if you're blowing it up? You don't want good veteran players on your team if you're going for a high draft pick.
Fans are too patient. They want to wait for the Ice Age here in clutchfans. Get ready for another Steve Francise like long stint of mediocre play with the Martin supporters and Chuck Hayes and Battier supporters fighting tooth and nail for the loser role players. Its really pathetic to hear their excuses to stand pat. They think its fan centric and loyal though. Cute but losing gets old to me for my favorite team.
Juan, If the injuries happened after the team had established a pattern of play it would be less important. But with over 40% turnover in the last year, this team has no idea whom they are.....and losing guys to injury while chemsitry is being developed sets the entire team back... DD
