sounds right. I dont think 8% is much of a realistic chance, but I take your point. I think I disagree that the 27’ picks increased in value. As u point out Brooklyn decreased and that was supposed to be a valuable pick now it’s not. In fact, they are so bad they could fall into that penalty zone with even lower odds. I don’t think that’s completely offset by the potential increased value of the Suns pick. And honestly who knows about 2029, because the suns could be worse at that point. But for sure it helped that 2029 Dallas pick. Sadly the team this new lotto system helped the most was OKC because of the quantity of middie picks they have.
I agree that it hurts the '27 picks more than it helps, but I do think the 2029 picks will have better value under the new rules and this should offset the devaluing of the Nets pick.
A) I dont think our guys are intelligent enough to run "wide open motion offense." Most of them do not have the read and react skills needed... and theyre not good passers... B) Where is this "wide open motion offense" coming from? Ime? lol! C) I like transition buckets - but how many opportunities do we blow? Amen and tari regularly blew easy transition opportunities... bobbling or bouncing off their knee... D) You dont 'build around' anybody - just play guys in position suited to their abilities.. let Amen be a SF - since he cant shoot... Treat KD like a sg - let him catch and shoot from the perimeter... Alpi - idk - dude is too soft to be primary rim protector, but cant shoot to be a stretch 4.... We do not have a superstar to build around! Once we do - sure, mold accordingly... but until then, you jockey the pieces u got to maximize their productivity. Smh... people thinking if we get rid of older guys we're going to have this high octane run n gun offense... look at the roster! look at the coaches! I always hate it when coaches input 'their system' with no regards to the actual pieces at their disposal... like MDA deciding to shoot a bunch of 3s - but having limited shooters.... oh and on the 80/20... i think 97% of CF loved the Ty Lawson trade... how'd that work out? lol
I don't think Miami has any interest in Sengun .... not with Bam and Ware on the roster. I could see them making a deal for KD though .... I doubt they give up Ware or Herro but offer Wiggins & Jakucionis and 13, or something similar. I think they'll hang onto Ware as long as they can, maybe trade him in 2027/28 which is the last year of his deal or even keeping him as a RFA as Bam and his $57.4m come off the books a year later when Bam will be 32 at the start of the next season .... Ware will be only 24.
I feel like ownership would be the one to push to cash in Amen/Sengun + assets for Giannis or whoever. I think running back with some minor changes next season is a prudent move. I also think if KD wants to stay at least for next season, we should keep him. We can also trade him the season after next when he's an expiring contract. There's is a time management with the BKN 2027 pick, it's most valuable up until it's used. We can run it back, but we still have to make a decision for Amen and Sengun.
That 27 draft looks incredibly poor from the top down - would you trade that swap for a pick in this year's draft - from Brooklyn or another team in the top 5-7? I think maybe you have to add something to that to get a deal done - not sure what.
Very fair and it's the risk you run when you have a rotation with older players (Durant, FVV, Adams, DFS). That's why I suggested going after promising young guys like Jerome and Sharpe that can contribute right now and lighten FVV and Adams' loads during the season. The soft retooling/rebuilding option is there and is tempting but everything we have heard from Ime and Stone suggests we are not doing that right now.
