For some reason, women don't always look their best in their police mug shots. Don't know why that is. I think the withering phenomenon is most common in male child stars. You can have a cute kid but you never know what the hell is going to happen to them when they hit puberty. Less the case, even, with female child stars -- I think you can predict what they'll look like pretty well. Boys are all over the map though. Disclaimer: I don't mean any of this in any sort of pedophilic way. Just in the most wholesome evaluation you can imagine.
