yup i agree a dumb post. but I guess what do you expect from someone who thinks Steve Francis Rules... unless he changed his mind but decided he's stuck with his screenname
It's amazing how an archaic, misogynistic, authoritarian moral philosophy can inoculate itself from criticism (even command respect!) simply by wrapping itself in some made up stories and calling it a religion. The fact that it is practiced largely by nonwhites in the oppressed world probably helps garner sympathy as well. And anyone who criticizes this immoral philosophy are themselves cast as bigots. It's a remarkable inversion of reason. If Islam were a religion practiced by white southerners, it would be rightly maligned.
yeah, because someone who can't pick one team to root for is all that better. surprised you didn't go jazzrocketsfan.
It wasn't a stupid post. The post by basso that I was responding to didn't mention laws specifically. It said it was a real shame that in much of the Muslim world, women dressed like that could be stoned (of course, he was exaggerating). I responded by saying that there are many supposedly "enlightened" countries in which women would also pay a price for wearing clothing like that. And yes, I have changed my mind, but I'm stuck with my screen name. At least SF3 had a good run with the rockets. I'm not stuck with something like "VSpan_rules"!
As mc mark pointed out, if white southerners practiced Christianity or Judaism exactly as it's laid out in their holy books, it would be just as bad. Many of the laws practiced in the Muslim world are not part of the Qur'an, by the way.
hah I knew someone was going to say that.... but I was a Barkley fan first so which is why I was a Suns fan before a Rockets fan. I'm still a Suns fan since I grew up watching that team. There is nothign wrong with that. I was also a huge Steve Francis fan before his latest interview with SLAM magainze. The guy is clearly a jerk, paraniod, arrogrant and full of himself. Which is why I gave Steve Francis Rulezthe execuse he may have beeen a SF fan but isnt anymore but just decided to stick with his screen name
Yea I figured you might have changed your mind and just stuck with your name. To be fair as I said earlier I was also a huge SF fan when he was on the Rockets the first time around. Unfortunately over the last couple of years we just saw how selfish he truly was and how he never put his team ahead of himself. His latest interview did him in for me. Agree with you I guess having something like VSpan_Rules is pretty bad for a Rockets fan.. only one I can think of that is worse is pippen_rulez.. but i dont think anyone has that screenname ...

Because of corruption, greed, lack of education... and ofcourse no Muslim country correctly implements the true Islamic teachings... However, were getting there. Inshallah soon...
Why has no Muslim country managed to correctly implement the "true Islamic teachings" if the Quran is such a great guideline? And how do you think you are getting there?
Corruption, Opression, Greed... Years of wrong leadership. How are they getting there? Proper Islamic/Western Education, Better Leaders, Letting go of the cultural baggage...
I don't think there is a well-run Muslim country with a religious government. I don't think theocracies work well regardless of the religion.
