Bloomberg Declares War on Salt

    I think education is really the key and instead of mandating bans I would rather see better labelling on foods.

    OK - so if I took a jackhammer and started tearing up the part of the highway that's in front of my house, theorizing that it's the point of tax dollars to subsidize it, you would be ok with that?

    It's called the free-rider effect and a means of economic iniefficiency. To the extent we can limit it in certain areas then that's fine by me. If the government builds a highway, it has the right to say that I can't just go and tear it up. If the government gets stuck paying health care costs, it has the right to tell people to behave more healthily to an extent.

    Um no....a better analogy would be me driving a huge ass truck 3 times, 7 days a week, while you drive a small lightweight buggy twice a week on the same road. I am causing way more wear and tear on the road than you are, but it is still perfectly acceptable use.

    Except that our nation was founded on personal freedom and choice.

    Some people will choose to eat healthy and others won't. That is part of the benefit of living in a free country.

    I think Bloomberg should just go ahead and ban fat people.
