    If it had been a white family on the cover, people would be complaining that it was racist for suggesting that home ownership is a white-people thing. This is ghost hunting.

    So you exploited the poster's mistake of speaking in absolute terms to respond with an irrelevant example; which allowed you to rebut the primary issue of excessive minority complaints about depictions in contemporary media. Now you're qualifying your earlier tangential argument and conceding the key point that the poster was actually making, which you should have done in the first place.
