    Dear Mr. HootOwl,

Your coining of the term "tax cute" is a real winner, and we
would like to use that term, reminding one of cuddly baby
animals, in our upcoming campaign. In return, we have an
exciting offer. How would you like an entry level job printing
all-caps slogans on enormous signs for presidential
appearances? This coveted position is the only one currently
open! We used to have fact-checker slots open, but we
decided to eliminate those positions entirely.

    Sincerely,
    Karl Rove

The GOP continues to try to shove weaker energy standards and corporate welfare down the throats of Americans. This energy bill was written by and for the energy industry as payback for helping the Bush regime to get elected. This bill would hurt average Americans in favor of allowing the energy industry to run roughshod over the environmental concerns of this country. It is a shame that the "conservatives" would rather have dirtier air, less drinkable water, and corporate welfare.

Once again, the idiocy of Trader_Jorge is unleashed on this BBS in an effort to confuse the issue and apply partisan spin.

    As usual.

Last I heard was that if it was not through by Wednesday, it would have to wait till next year.

I really hope it doesn't get through.

    Dear Mr. Rove -
I regret that I cannot accept the position
you have so generously offered. As an MBA
candidate, I have decided instead to pursue
one of the many lucrative opoprtunities
you have assured me will be forthcoming as a result
of the recent tax cuts. Though my tax professors
and economics professors are skeptical, I know that
they are simply wild-eyed liberal academics obsessed
with fuzzy math. If however, I am still without employment
upon graduation, I will consider licensing the phrase
tax cute (tm) in exchange for exhorbitant fees and free health care.

    Sincerely,
    Ms. HootOwl
