I never really did like them. I bought their first album when it came out because I saw them play at some show and I thought they were pretty good. Well, I sold the record back to the store later that day for store credit. I think there were one or two songs that I liked, just not enough for me to keep it.
Check out their live album...The Tom, Mark, and Travis show. They were one of those somewhat rare bands whose live music was better than their studio music. By the way, this blows
i was somewhat of a fan. really liked Dude Ranch and the albums after it. hell, if i had Shanna Moakler's kid, id like to stay home too and make more babies... i still think "Dammit" is their greatest song ever. they also had some of the best ballads from any rock band. wonder if Boxcar Racer is going to make another album
I hear ya. I'll always consider Blink-182 to be a decent band that made some good songs. Everything that has come after them is total crap. The New Found Glory's, the Yellowcard's, what else is there.... they all suck so bad. They are destroying what used to be known as punk, but is now just whiny, stupid stuff. One can only imagine how much this is messing up the youth of America, ha.
Uh, not. I'm 32, married and in law school... so I know I'm not cool. I also know those guys were douchebags and they did the music world a favor by breaking up.
I would normally agree with you, Freaky except that DanHiggsBeard has yet to say anything - so your labelling is a bit premature.
All of you jackholes are saying you didn't like them. They were popular, sold millions of albums, picked up where Green Day left off only to hand it back off to Green Day again, yet in typical fashion apparently nobody likes them. And I loved the Dude Ranch reference. that is the other popular thing to do on a BBS. Drop either some old obscure album that sucked because the band wasn't tight yet or their breakthrough album (in this case) and then claim everything else sucked. It's predictable to the nth (nth is an acceptable Scrabble word incidently). I am not ashamed to say that I think Blink 182 kicks ass. They were the soundtrack to some of the most memorable moments of my life in the last decade. I remember rocking out to Dysentary Gary with my 2 year old boy in his car seat on the way to go camping, just him and me, and my new Blink CD. I remember being stoked when Jacket came out. They made punk music that was tight and good and I am not ashamed to say it, I loved 'em. Blink 182 Rocks Balls and I cannot be convinced otherwise. Anyone else?
I agree. I liked 'em a lot. Not my favorite band in the world, but I've loved their last three albums. Enema of the State was just solid top to bottom.
Speaking of Jacket, what was ya'lls favorite song that wasn't a single from that album? I really like that song Roller Coaster.
Don't Leave Me Anthem (i think this was a single) Mutt (was the perfect song when they played it on American Pie and a cameo in the movie ) Everytime I Look For You (again, great for American Pie 2)
Never was a big enough fan to buy anything by them, but on the other hand, I thought they were a notch above what I'm normaly subjected to on the radio (kinda like Green Day, for me). Actually, that makes me wonder if they don't have an 'American Idiot', break-thru release in them when the inevitable reunion occurs.
They have nothing to do with Blink 182, now do they? Are you just trying to show how much better your judgment is? Doesn't matter because he wasn't even making a comparative statement. I don't know Blink 182 very well. I saw a video for one of their songs once where they were running around naked. It was funny...not just for the silliness, but because it was on a show where they were grading "sexy videos" where the audience punched buttons on a "sexy meter" during the videos. So the producers picked that one and it got a low sexy score. It was really bizarre.
You know, I had always thought that Lemmy had one growth on his face until I was watching a live thing (not LIVE live) about 6 months ago and they zoomed in real tight. Low and behold.....two growths! Ace of Spades!!!!!
