bemoaning or simply stating facts while at the same time acknowledging that work does need to be done and improvements do need to be made? Hmmm?
I refuse to believe that a healthy Rockets team is better than the Spurs, Lakers, Mavs, Kings, Blazers. When and if this team gets healthier and older, I doubt that we will be anything higher than the 6th seed. Although the Rockets have done well in the past as the 6th seed Fran is on the mark in this article. We should not bash everything Fran writes just because he wrote it.
When you lose Francis, that's when u lose EVERYTHING. Motivation, intensity, scoring, rebounding, passing, decreased defensive pressure. This is then a fundamental flaw in the team. Good teams can overcome losses of star players. Toronto did it. Orlando did it. Charlotte did it. Both LA and Sacramento did it. The team doesn't necessarily need to be able to make the playoffs or even be GOOD without the star player, but if we're going 1-20 or whatever without him, then we have way too many eggs in one basket. That means the supporting cast sucks.
Is being horrible without Steve a flaw or does it show just how important he is? Granted, if we were a 55 game winner then we'd still be mediocre without Steve but he's nonetheless vital to us being good. Steve means more to our team than just about any other player in the NBA means to there's. The rest of our team is full of roleplayers and other decent NBA teams have at least one or 2 stars to go with their superstars.
The article minus all the bad metaphors, fluff, and cheap shots simply implies that the Rockets need a low post presence. Wow...Fran is a genius...I wonder how long it came him to come up with that. Of course he didn't give much insight into how the Rockets could actually acquire that strong low post presence, but that would be asking too much. If you can't see that Fran is still bitter about the Rockets trading Dream, then you have got to be blind. I think his bitterness is more of the driving force behind these articles he's written in the last couples months than his hopes that the Rockets can improve. The articles are too negative for me to believe that he genuinely hopes that the Rockets will succeed.
Screw u fran The Rockets will be 6-2 against the spurs and Mavericks next year and 4-4 with the lakers and Kings I said it. Rocket River
fran is pretty much right on the money, we need interior help, no question about it. the thing is i wish he didn't sound like an ass when he writes. it's obvious he has some grudge againt the organization. as far as the rocks, i have to side with sane here. how can injuries and youth be a tired excuse when it's just the facts. we got younger and we got severely beaten with injuries, simple as that. imo, three years and no postseason is pretty minimal in the rebuilding process. some people are just too impatient to wait on a good thing.
