The fact that so many people always have a strong reaction to Blinebury's columns proves he's doing his job well.
So being offensive would also indicate a job well-done? I think that writers often should "stir-it-up," but I also think they have a responsibility to provide good analysis.
There are columnists whose sole responsibility is to take a negative slant on something and rile people up or at least make them think. However, their purpose should be to make people object to their opinion that is grounded in fact. Blinebury just spews random stuff out there with very little substance. Seriously, do you think it's that difficult to write about "the curse of the Dreambino"? Good grief, first it's a rip off of another team's "curse", and second, it has very little merit because Hakeem was just traded. Write it in about 20 years, not after a whole 2 months of "cursin'". Blinebury's article is nothing more than a lame attempt to get people to think and think against him. Instead of thinking against him or making them think, he just proves he has nothing to say.
