It's time for the 2009 remix version in Game 7. Shane for the Game winning 3.

Yet you skip the one that defines a lot of the talent that the Rockets have. A characteristic feature. Toughness. An Aptitude. IQ. A disposition. Hardworker.

Talent is more than just physical attributes or size.

lakers have a lot more 'on-paper' talent than the rockets. their players are more athletic (with the exception of the PG position), have more scoring ability, length, and height. they have more physical talent, and their stat production is better. their players by and large are more skilled than ours. however, they don't utilize their talent efficiently. you saw what happened in game 5 - it's clear that team outclasses us. same as in game 7 of the mavs series, that mavs team was just more talented than us by a mile.

Where did I say that freakishly tall players or overweight players will be better than anyone else? You're not even making sense now.

Tell that to any GM or coach and you will get laughed at and I'm sure you know that.

If you take two guys who are identical in everything except one guy is two inches taller who gets picked first? Now don't tell me height isn't a talent when all you hear all game long from analysts and coaches is that "you can't teach size."

Great post! The Rockets have the fans across the country and across the world excited, and if they somehow pull off the ultimate upset tomorrow, we'll see a huge upwelling of Rockets love for just the reasons you give. Heck, with the current economic crisis, it's almost like fiction out of a 1930's flick, with the poor, dumped on, downtrodden fellow(s) making good, against all odds, and giving hope to the masses! ;)

See below, where I mention the endless NBA promos of "The Stars." Gets tiresome, doesn't it?

I certainly wouldn't call Ron a "star," not in the traditional sense. It's like the league doesn't know what to do with him. Because of the "going into the stands and creating a black eye for the league" incident, Artest hasn't been marketed by the league at all, has he? Actually, I've seen more of Artest on the tube in promotions, etc., during these playoffs than I've seen in a long time. Most of that isn't the league at all, but the various entities broadcasting the games. Go on NBATV (I take it, so I don't miss a damn game, the money hungry basta... never mind) and he isn't in the regular blurbs about the "stars". You don't see Ron much when they are playing that goofy, ponderous music that I'm sick of, while showing slo-mo's of various Super Dudes doing their acrobatics on the court. Anyway, I don't think my statement was far off-base. But based on talent? Of course he's a star.

Myth? More like reality. We have nothing to be ashamed of though.
