I can see Morey signing Patterson or even trading for him (doubtful the Raptors give him up for a 2nd round pick and Greg Smith), but the point is he could be had for cheap. I am guessing he will be plan Z this off-season. Might even be able to convince him to sign a 1 year deal.
It IS his fault the Kings gave up on him. Same for the Rockets. He's just not a good NBA player and doesn't show any sign of figuring things out. If he's lucky enough to get a roster spot next season, that might be his last chance. Probably needs to go overseas.
Even complete flops like Morrison, Tskitishvili, Thabeet and others way worse than T-Rob got more than half of a season from their original teams. Trading a top 3 pick midway through the season is a reason why Sacramento is Sacramento. And we both know why the Rockets dealt him. His play had nothing to do with it. That said, I know he has work to do. The number don't lie - he makes his team worse when he's out there. There's still time for him to figure it out, though.
There is time for T-Rob, but he's sometimes clueless on the court. Seriously, it's like he's lost now that his athleticism can't overwhelm people. That's why I think he's a lost cause. Wish him the best and hope he proves otherwise.
Yes. I was wrong about Robinson's trade value. One didn't see how bad Robinson was and it worked out. But I recall Morey saying that the team would have kept Robinson if the free agency situation didn't turn out the way it did. Maybe it was just a posture rather than their true intention. I wonder how much info that Morey had back in February about Dwight's situation. Anyhow, Robinson pretty much has the same issues he's always had in the NBA: can't finish around the basket and can't shoot the J, either. You really have to be able to do at least one of these things in the NBA.
