Typo in the title and you can't edit titles for some reason.

Anyways, Carl Herrera, I found some more fuel for your fire.

Robinson had the "most NBA-ready" label coming into that draft. I wonder what happened.

To be fair, for the rockets, it was about resale value

Carl's mistake was ever thinking that we wanted T-Rob long term, we were all about Dwight and which player would get us more assets. Turned out TRob got us more than PPat ever would have got us.

I really think most people understood it was about being able to trade something without taking salary back.

you could never do that with PP but you could do it with Trob.

Morey knew it at the time of the trade and several articles corroborated the fact.

Most people's annoyance with CH's arrogance on the fact was that he flat out ignored the main reason and value of the trade.

Not gonna lie, I thought T-Rob was going to be a player. I didn't put much stock in player stats coming out of Sacramento. He seemed like he was in a good spot to finally show his worth, but after 3 places and the same results in each place, it's obvious that he has a lot of growth ahead of him or he will be out of the league when his rookie contract expires just like Terrence Williams.

I still think 2Pat can contribute off the bench on some team looking for what he can provide. He just can't expect to get paid alot to do what he provides.

T-Rob on the other hand, is currently at risk of not staying in the league unless he improves.

I feel for the guy. Three teams in less than two seasons; and for the most part, through no fault of his own.

His Per 36 line is decent. Granted, they're obviously empty stats, but there's still time for T-Rob to pull it all together.

He didn't ignore it, he just claimed we'd need to give up assets (ala Royce) to get rid of TRob

That's right. He might have said we'd get one second rounder at best. We ended up getting the equivalent of 3 second rounders. So we did ok for him ( especially knowing Morey and his second rounders).

He claimed a lot of crap that I debated back and forth for a while. It's over - Morey was right and those of us that understood the move at the time lost no sleep over PPat being gone.

those that didn't can continue to go cry in their car.

Patterson got us a top 5 pick and Francisco Garcia. Robinson got us what, exactly?

We traded Marcus Morris for picks. There is no reason we couldn't have done that with Patterson.

Morey said the only reason he traded Robinson was because he was confident he would sign Dwight.

last post of my life on this subject.

we needed the cap room to sign dwight. we got trob was because we knew we would have to take something back for most of our assets - PP included (thus garcia - it was monetary related). you can debate whether he could have gotten more back for trob - but the reality is he got what he wanted - cap space and picks.

that cap space got you dwight. deal with it. (and go back and look - there were articles at the time making it clear this was all to free up money for a dwight pursuit. this wasn't a revelation at the nth hour)

That is one thing the article pointed out interestingly enough. His personal numbers aren't that bad, but he completely destroys the team statistics offensively and defensively when he is on the court. They are significantly worse with him out there.

That's because he isn't LeMarcus Aldridge who is have an MVP vote getting season. The plus/minus is LMA/Trob.

Yep. A lot of this is because LMA's so good, not that Robinson is bad.

Naw it's not really that simple. LMA being on or off the court doesn't excuse the fact that they are outscored 10.4 points per 100 possessions when Robinson is in the game.
