Disagreed. You talk about how Portland is best off with the ball in Roy's hands yet you endorse their pursuit of Hedo? I don't get that. Portland has enough wings already and there's nothing Hedo does that Roy doesn't do better, IMO. PG has been their weakest position. If they signed Miller they would not only upgrade their weakest position but also add the veteran presence that they've coveted for a while now. Miller, Bibby, Nash (via trade)....those are all moves that make sense to me. I don't think being a 3-pt shooter is a requirement to man the point in Portland. It's not like Miller doesn't bring anything else to the table here. We're talking about a mid-range assassin that gets to the line a lot. Perfect for all the PnR'ing Portland likes to do. Plus, he's been an ironman that embodies consistency -- 80 games and 35+ minutes for whichever team he has played for. I have a hard time believing this doesn't make them better.
The Blazers are more likely to trade his rights or for that matter Koponen's to another team than ours. I also feel that they can get a better 2nd round pick as compared to Eliyahu. His improved overseas performance may not translate to the NBA unless he can shoot. DM would been trying hard to bring Eliyahu here instead of letting him go to Europe if he thought it would help us out.
Looks like the Blazers got their guy, per sportscenter. Now I am thinking someone will be available. Fdz, Webster, Outlaw, Batum, they are loaded at 2/3 position.
