No James White years ago, no Joe Alexander. Everyone halfway following the NBA knows guys like that should get the invite. I was anxious to see if there were the "dunk followers" who'd go with the best dunker. Nice they tried to get fan involvement. But now I almost wouldnt doubt that guys like Kevin Durant or OJ Mayo get the most votes if they were ever on the list,
sad that the mcdonald's high school dunk contest is more exciting than the nba one. just watched the 2003 one linked in this thread... man, some of those dunks were pretty sick. i cant see rudy fernandez holding a candle to any of those guys.
pritchard stuffed the ballot everyone was trying to get Alexander in, they had numerous promos for him on PTI. gosh thats frustrating unless he goes out and impresses but that promo video is ugly...in the original sense of the word. well i hope Howard or Gay win it, its shaping up to be one of the worst contests ever with 2 guys in it that really shouldnt be in robinson and fernandez
They really need to get rid of the NBA culture that you can "outgrow" the slam dunk competition. We need to see guys out there like Carter, Kobe, Richardson, JR Smith, Iguodala etc. Somehow guys don't take that much pride in participating or even winning the slam dunk contest, not even for bragging rights. This year seems like it's going to be very disappointing, with the only bright spot possibly being Howard.
He's dead weight and completely out of his league. Can't we get some real high fliers out there? Why doesn't Carter do it any more?
Did someone forget to tell Fernandez that he can't do something someone else has done already? His dunks look so amateur.
that's exactly the entire problem. asking fans to vote, you're asking for an unintelligent selection. majority of the voters are not diehards like we are.
Anything for Carter would be a step down after his past performance. I mean, wth can he do to top it? Jump through the hoop? lol.
I wonder if he's going to ask Dwight to pose for him again? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/47VLce11WDM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/47VLce11WDM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I'm gonna make a bold prediction and say that Rudy will get the absolute lowest scores in the history of the dunk contest.
Rudy Fernandez first dunk - basic one handed dunk 2nd dunk - basic two handed dunk 3rd dunk(unlikely he'll get the chance) - goes back to the basic one handed dunk
