One can dream... Of course picks would be thrown in there also that would go to Toronto. Toronto in full tank mode.
is LMA even possible? First, Blazers have a pg, so they're not going to take Lin. A third team would have to be involved. What team needs a PG and has something to give Blazers, and would take on a 20M Lin deal over the next 2 yrs? Blazers would get Asik, D-MO (hopefully), int'l draft rights, a first round pick, and they still need a back up PG, that they hopefully would get from the 3rd team involved. Plus remember, I forgot how it works, that the Blazers would have to get a 25% increase in the value of LMA's contract.
Harden 15 mill + Aldridge 15 mill + Howard 20 mil - 50 mill. sign Parsons for 8-9 million - 58.5 mill. The rest of the team comes from's Mr.Alexander's pockets i guess. Really rough math lol
That might be true but then it gets a little dicey when you start going into the repeater's tax and what not. Gotta win championships for Les.
According to Larry Coon Even if we trade for Aldridge this year, we won't be in the luxury tax next season. So luxury tax would look like this. 2014 - no tax 2015 - Pay tax after Parsons raise, MLE, etc. 2016 - Pay tax 2017 - Pay tax 2018 - Pay repeater tax if we're still over the tax line. If we still haven't won a championship by 2018, Les will probably blow up that team anyway.
Great info. Particularly the "repeater tax" info. That to me is the BIG issue and the only TRUE stumbling block (on the horizon) from the Rockets getting a 3rd star. The repeater is so punitive. Under the current scenario, it appears rather far off and if Morey can do his tricks he might even get out of paying the tax one of those consecutive years to by the team even more time.
