fair enough. i get the use of more potent and effective words. well, consider the audience. we all can't be journalists who scored 800 on our SAT verbal. :p

he's a good writer, just not a great analyst. It's obvious the rockets were more prepared, so the beginning if entertaining, but just general insight. He talks about favorable calls for Houston, but that's bull. The refs called the game pretty equally, which they always do when Stern is in the house. He also says there was an off rebounding shortage for the blazers ealry on, if i remember correctly they had a big edge in off rebounds over houston the first half. "Blake missed shots he normally makes". Blake made the jumpers he normally makes, problem was he didnt shoot enough, he was 2 of 6, and at least 2 of his shots were rushed to beat the clock, i doubt those are shots ANYONE usually makes.

He says "that's not houston" when refering to scola and ron making most of their shots. I'll give him ron, but he obviously doesn't know Scola very well. I hope he didn't include Brooks in that reference, because he's done it also, just been in a funk lately.

I actually think the guy has sub par writing skills for someone who runs such a large site, and that this article came off particularly homerish and whiny.

Well, not every fan base's first instinct is to trash the team and make "TRADE ____ NOW!!" threads. Not everyone can be a Rockets fan.

I'm not going to address your other posts since it's already been done.

I don't think his points are any different than other fansite moderators. In fact, he's pretty unbiased when you consider his work as a whole. Additionally, it's only game 1 so I'm guessing he wants to displace some of the blame from the blowout for himself and for the fans. He doesn't have any obligation to be objective, yet for the most part, he still is.

He also has to cater to a different audience. He's not writing to your college professors or your journalist friends.

He's not trying to write a thesis or a paper. It's not even a sports article. It's a blog, where you can pretty much write whatever you want.

I guess you have higher standards for writing than a lot of us here. His simple words kind of turn you off and that's fine. Anyways peace out gotta study for my exam tomorrow! haha

LOL .. no, this is exactly what you said:

"I would be disappointed to visit the Post and see writers use only 3 syllable words. I go to yahoo for that."

That's fine. I'm not expecting high quality journalism from a blog, but your standards are obviously higher than mine.
