I love the Rocket's announcers, especially Bill and Bull; wish I could listen to them.

I did enjoy listening to them last night. Little was said that did not directly relate to the game on the court.

I thought the OP was being sarcastic. I guess not. You obviously haven't heard the Portland broadcast team enough, especially Mike Rice. I think that they gave the Rockets some praise last night because Rice picked the Rockets to win the West in pre-season.

The Raptors are the only commentators outside of the Rockets' I actually like listening too, the Trail-Blazers aren't too bad, but I can't stand listening to most other team's commentators.

Scott Hastings in Denver is the absolute worst in the business. The biggest whiners I've ever heard and a general douchebag

    Definitely.

Knicks are the best IMO. I'll watch a Knicks game just to hear those guys speak.

Ours are in the bottom 10 definitely though.

I don't know why people are so hung up on lack of homerism from local announcers. I find it weird when local announcers feel like they're national announcers by trying to be unbiased.

My personal pet peeve is announcers not doing their homework. But I kind of like homerism as long as it's not overboard like the Celtics and Spurs. Portland announcers were nice to listen to.

Surprised I was surprised to see Knicks fans on their forums b****ing about Breen and how he's not homer-y enough and some thought he actually hated the team.

My problem with the Rocket guys is not that they are homers, they are just dull. Especially Clyde. Clyde calls the game more like that random guy you're sitting next to.

That's interesting. Is it because of Breen also being a national announcer? I'm quite sure they all like Clyde though. Generally I find ex-players to be meh color commentators, but he's pretty awesome.

I'm in the same boat, I don't mind homerism. An unprepared announcer is the worst. One who mispronounces names or says them wrong, one who generalizes about players they clearly know nothing about. As long as they are informed, homerism is totally okay to me

Bill shows his Homerism a lot but he has been calling Rockets games since the 70's so he is obviously deeply embedded in this team. Bull is actually pretty good. Didn't he finish runner up when ESPN was doing the commentator battle? Clyde is..yeah.

I think the best commentators are Mike Breen because of his "BANG" and his knowledge of the game and Chris Webber because he definitely knows what he is taking about and can explain plays correctly. I would watch a game between the Bobcats and the Jazz to hear them commentate.
