No to Blatche, Yes to Mcgee!!!

Dude has every tool to be the defensive player of the year he just needs to mature!!

A front line of Javale McGee and Jordan Hill could one day become a defensive two headed monster!!

Saw him block Brooks' three point shot, Martin in the lane and give Scola all kinds of trouble last night too. He needs work but COULD develop nicely.

Agree on Blatche, stats look nice and had a few nice moves last night but his defense, as the poster above you said, is horrible and his rebounding numbers aren't great for someone his size.

    Where's a link?

Would trade either Hill or Patterson with Bud for McGee if not more. He's easily one of the most athletic centers in the lg if not the most athletic. And he's already one of the best shot blockers in the NBA and a good rebounder. You don't find players with his talent very often at all. If he ever developed a post game he would be a franchise player.

Haha I remember McGee suing Yao for the first time when he was a rookie. The kid had a mentality of I have to dunk on Yao because it'd prove something. He never did get a poster on Yao BUT I remember the wizards winning. I didn't go off Ina tangent for just any reason. I went on one because I remembered liking what I see and if he hasn't gotten any worse since, let's get him!

FWIW his fouls per 36 min have dropped each year he has been in the league.

I wouldn't touch Blatche. He has had questionable motivation issues surrounding him his whole career and it just when it looked like he was about to turn the corner last year, he comes in this year looking noticeably heavier. If the guy was going to figure it out, he would have already - he has had the benefit of being able to grow in an incredibly low pressure situation with lowered expectations are the norm for DC.

McGee is okay but still looks raw to me. If you told me he would be out of the league in 3 years, it wouldn't surprise me. If you told me he was going to be on an all star team in 3 years THAT would surprise me. I guess that kind of shows where I stand on his worth. Physically he has a high ceiling but taking into account what's in his head, I would say his best case development isn't that high. If I'm Houston's GM and I'm going to gamble, it wouldn't be on him. Would I take McGee on the team? Sure - if the price is reasonable enough.

McGee and filler for C-Bud & P-Pat with a first round pick may get it done...

This current Rockets front office WILL NOT be trading for Andrae Blatche unless it is necessary to acquire some other asset.

McGee? I could see that. I think they could "coach him up" okay.

Maybe it would be necessary to acquire McGee.

I don't think they are trading both. I believe it's one or the other.

McGee is as dumb as a rock, but big and athletic.

He's not a smart basketball player, yet he demands the ball constantly.

Not a good combination, and not something this front office looks highly upon.

McGee, on the other hand, is a good shot blocker who knows his role for the most part. THAT kind of player can be coached up to potentially become a valuable contributor to a winning team.

    Blatche? Not so much.

Do you really see the Rox showing much interest in eather of these guys when Gasol might be made available. The Grizz ivested alot of money on Gay, and Conley hard to see them going all out resign him next year(heir owner is not exactly Mark Cuban). They'll probably end up loosing him in free agency anyway.

no to blatche all he does is shoot jumpshots on offense and hardly ever plays with his back to the basket and take advantage of his 7 ft height. McGee however gives us an athletic 7 footer who can block shots and provide a decent presence on offense, and the only knock on him is a tendency to make some boneheaded plays
