    Is this post for real?

This country was founded on immigrants and being proud of where you came from is no crime, and it certainly isn't unAmerican.

Why would anyone be so insecure that they can't handle seeing another flag on a car. Of all the things there are to be upset about, this seems like it would be near last on the list.

    ...and CASE IN POINT.

The same reason why people fly a Texas flag if they don't live in Texas.

The same reason why people put UT stickers on their car after they've graduated and in the work force.

If you had one Irish parent and one American parent, are you supposed to ignore your Irish heritage or would you celebrate it?

Your personal history is YOURS alone and you should be proud of it.

Being loyal to one's country isn't like being in a monogamous marriage. It's not adulterous to be proud of two countries.

I don't axactly agree with this. One observation though:

There seems to be a certain faction in this country that goes WAY WAY WAY out of their way to show how much they are not a racist. They cowtow, etc etc.

It makes me wonder...who are they trying to convince that they are not racist, society or themselves?

Around here it's like they are just extending Mexico. I don't know if they feel like they really left. There are many parts of Houston where you would think you are in Mexico. There are just going to be more and more coming. It's going to be a major transformation and I'm not sure it's all a positive. The Mexican cultural mindset is not the same as the contemporary American one. It's going to cause some problems.

I recommend that we take all lands west of I-35 and south of I-10, and cede them back to Mexico. :D

Racism is not a tolerable thing. We have come way to far as a society to allow racism to be a tolerable thing.

That being said, it appears that there are some (to be read as SOME, not all or most) people that carry it so far as to make a point of it to somehow prove they are not racist.

    Occasionally, it just seems contrived.

I don't see that's different than little Italy, or Irish sections of New York in the 1800's and early 1900's.

I don't have a problem with it. If they can survive and thrive in that environment, then great for them. I don't see that being a long term problem anyway. Children of immigrants assimilate much more into the main stream community than parents.

You know "around here" was historically Spanish speaking longer than it's been English speaking, right? You know "around here" was actually Mexico, right?

...not sure if you are aware, historically speaking, not one language or even country on the planet has ever remained constant.

    Resistance is futile ...literally.

my mormon friend got married over labor day weekend and i was at the reception and I was the only person there that wasnt white. I kid you not at 2 different times during the reception I had 2 different people hand me their trash thinking I was the help there to throw away. I looked at them and I was like WHAT I dont know where the trash is you go throw it away yourself. One of the guys went to go complain to the groom's (my friend) dad about the terrible service and then my friends dad told him I was actually a guest and the guy came back and apologized.

    the other person didnt though.

me racist though? no i am not, do I make a lot of racist comments in jest? of course but i dont single any particular race out.

The color of one's skin is nothing more than the color of one's skin.

    I concentrate on what's between a person's ears.

Unfortunately, I've been hanging around lots of dumbasses lately, and the color of their skin runs the gamut...white, black, brown.

I'd like to eliminate most of the dumbasses from my life, and get them back down to a tolerable level.

In order to do that, I need to find a new day job.

Hey, he was my teacher as well. Although, I remember my parents b****ing him out one afternoon for calling me a "fool" in class. Of course, I was being one so......

I heard he died many years back. I think I had him in 2 grade, then again for history in 5th.

ps. Boy that Mrs. Steele was a piece of work wasn't she?

unfortunately it is probably too late to resist. It's scary to think what it will be like in 15 years.

the reconquistadors are out there and its already begun. People are just too blind or ignorant to realize it.
