anyone have the stats on scott foster reffing rockets games? the previous game he worked for us, i seem to remember someone posting that we had lost 7 of 8 to that point w/ him on the floor
Just ridiculous...... So irritating that the foul was even called..... The Tech on Bev was just as bad.
This Portland fan thought the officiating was exceptionally awful both ways -- phantom fouls, BS technical, missed goal tending ... just bad all over.
Youre Wrong Re Watch the game and tell me what happens all 3 times we establish a double digit lead on Portland? Literally the only reason Portland was in this game was b/c of the poor officiating. Portland wasn't stopping us when we went up 11, 14, and 12 I believe, phantom foul calls are what stopped us. Harden was attacking like he always does and getting banged around like he always does and no calls. Beverly and Dwight both got Techs but Lopez doesn't when shoved Parsons after he fouls out??? When ppl say refs don't impact the game its some of the stupidest things ppl can say, as if the foul shots don't count?
Oh I can and I will. Our team is specifically built around guys who get to the free throw line. They get there partially because they play for the whistle, but mostly because they are almost impossible to stop. 0 free throw attempts in the first half, while Asik is getting tagged for ticky tack moving screens is utter bull****. Beverley getting a technical for doing nothing, while less than two minutes later, Batum charges toward the ref and no tech, is utter bull****. Lopez running to Parsons and patting him on the back is taunting, that is a technical. No call. That is utter bull****. You want to put all that aside and say it is part of the game, that is fine, we still had a shot through all that. But the moment that whistle blew on that final rebound and it was CLEARLY a foul against Dwight, that call was the deciding factor in who won the game. It wasn't Lin, it wasn't Harden, Beverley, McHale, or whomever. The point of officiating is to call fouls fouls, not to make sure teams awarded equal free throw attempts. Officiating determined the outcome of this game, not which team was better.
It wasn't even close to a travel but it also wasn't a foul on LA. LILLARD CLEARLY tripped howard from behind, thus the stumbling of feet.
Sweetums. Incorrigible homers. In a thread about officiating in a game we lost where the NBA admits to a crucial blown call.
Did you happen to see what I was responding to? Point is, the game and bad calls both ways and yall probably got the worse end of it, esp. on a game-ending miscall. Which is exactly what happened in the Clipper game (to which I was met with derogatory "karma is a b****, floppers!" and what not). Clearly the NBA has an officiating problem but it's been this way for years. You will get favorable officiating next game, just as the Clippers will tonight. And the dance continues.

I don't give a crap what you were responding to. This is a Rockets message board and you are a guest here. Act with some respect to our fans especially in threads that have sensitive topics. Its basic manners.
If someone is going to insult me, I'm gonna insult back. I'm catty like that. If Clutch wants to ban me, he can do so. That guy is a homer if he doesn't see that the Blazers got some bad calls against them too-- although IMO as an unbiased observer, I think you guys got dicked more. I was just saying it was very similar to the Clipper/GSW game, both in the poor reffing and the outrageous finish.
nba is wwf. Refs were bad on both sides of ball and the final call cost us the game. It's hard to say who really won because both teams were trying (bless their hearts) but this was decided in a board room in nyc months ago. Do you think its a tad ironic going to 7 games? Hard to get too emotionally attached to any game or nba in general when it is dictated by refs. This is nothing new just ask kings fans from 2002 or celtics fans from that game 7 in finals where lakers had 25 free throws in the 4th quarter. Take it for what it is - entertainment.. and not really a sport or anything more than that. The players know its a business and thats why they don't sell out (except for maybe beverly who just plays hard) I mean why are they going to have heart and be all in when we are talking a fixed and incompetent structure? For what? Sure I like basketball but having seen the nba for long enough, you young guys need to know its not about the game or even who is best. Shame to be so cynical or know this, but it has been there since at least late 80's. For the nba to come out and admit like this ( they did the same on another call with clippers over weekend) and no one bats an eye shows you first hand the game is not legit. Kill the game shoot first and then when the questions come quietly issue a correction. a 'my bad' LOL it's comical in this day and age that this is the way to do things. Who cares now just say what you gotta day later. Think about it.. they are talking about introducing 4 point plays, letting players wear jerseys that say 'king james' this is wrestling fake as anything else disguised as basketball. All these touch fouls on every play in the name of offense and no emotion allowed (see bev tech) and then them coming out and admitting that the foul on howard was botched is basically a huge joke. Donaghy was in on it admitted as much and anyone with half a brain knows this after 2002 kings-lakers. This has been going on for a long long time guys and I suggest you take a step back and take a moment to enjoy the other things in life that are real - family, love etc because this is all fake. I blame stern for doing this to the game I used to love and kudos to him for bringing up the value monetarily while making it wrestling. "What the people want" ?!!? How long before the rim opens and closes and players can use trampolines?
100% agree. I feel like the game is becoming a circus. These officials have been refs for over 10 years yet all have a different interpretation of what a foul is. It's ridiculous. It's also obvious they call fouls based off who a player is rather than if it's actually a foul. Dwight Howard gets called for the worst calls I have ever seen any superstar. I've watched 2 games this season where Patrick Beverley was called for phantom technicals (Miami & Last night Portland game). I've seen CP3 do the same tactics but not get called for anything. It's disgusting.
Refs foul out 3 players...two on our side and one on their side. They are imposing their will too much in a playoff game. What happened to letting them play? This is supposed to be physical basketball....not ticky tack fouls every time down the court. And, the fact that the Rockets had zero FTs in the first half tells us a lot about the officiating in this game.
