Blame rap music? :Son of DJ Quik arrested for murder:update: lives of middle and rich class Blacks

This is fair but my post is more directed at the guys that are always bringing this up and especially the guys that bring it up in any thread that has to deal with a black person being victimized, a mass shooting, or any kind of gun violence to deflect from talking about whatever the topic is.

 

I'm pretty confident you couldn't school me on anything relating to hip hop. I'm well aware of who DJ Quik is.

 

Slavery has nothing to do with right now. My parents are in their 80s. The 50s and 60s saw major improvements in poverty across the nation with everyone. We can debate other historical events and their effects today, but everybody was poor in this country before WWII.

On redlining, blacks not being able to move into white suburbs and build wealth home ownership, we all accept a generalization that black neighborhoods can't improve. A lot of ghettos in the 80s were nicer in the 40s when black middle class couldn't live in white neighborhoods.

I liked this post because you're right that things are improving. Again the issue with me is that a lot of our problems are now in our hands
