Griffin with 10 pts and 5 rebs in 14 minutes at halftime vs. the Nuggets. That man is consistent!

Guys... it's ALL about the hype factor. Griffin is good, but people are not talking about him. The casual NBA fan hears this. [n]John Wall[/b]. Repeated. The media might be exaggerating John Wall's talents, but ROY is going to be won by the player that creates the most buzz in the media.

John Wall already has the advantage because of all the hype that surrounds him. People are talking him up to be the greatest PG of all time, or LeBron-level. I like Blake, but after last year's season-ending injury people just stopped talking about him.

Its John Wall's award to lose.

I saw him the other day, and I was impressed about how good he looks in the preseason.

I actually think he might be capable of averaging 20-10 for a season. I am most impressed about his ability to rebound. Aggresssive and knows where the ball bounces.

Finished the game with the Nugs with 24 pts, 14 rebs, and 4 blocks in 13 shots. There is no way John Wall will put up these numbers with also the consistentcy and proficentcy of Griffin.

I guess I need to watch John Wall more because I just don't see the skills. The clips I've seen of him in high school and college were underwhelming in that they didn't demonstrate any sort of elite skill and certainly no elite athleticism.

He just looks like a big PG with average athleticism and good length. A slightly larger Gary Payton.

i went to the game last night and Griffin was a total beast

the best part was that it didnt even seem like he scored that many points they all seem to come within the flow naturally.

The guy has ridiculously athleticism and the way he gets rebounds is how someone should, two hands all the time and if a balls around him he makes it known that he is getting it.

the 2 things i will say that i didnt really like and can easily be improved upon is his defense..he is a rookie and that should improve but he often leaked out a lot on offense and ran down the court on offense but didnt always show the same effort on defense.

he seems look to the refs alot -- there were two plays where he was legitimately fouled, once on a defensive rebound and then on a post up.

on the rebound he looked at the ref and asked for the call by the time he started to go down court the team was already starting to run its play.

on the post up he was knocked down and complained to the ref about the call and as his team was playing 4 on 5 he just jogged back down on defense. if JVG was the coach he'd probably get yanked right there for that effort. I would probably attribute that more to him being young...it should improve.

another thing i also didnt like was on all his dunks (and he had 5 by my count) he stopped after the dunk and stared at the crowd...yeah nice pose and all but the ball has already been inbounded and is heading down court... its one thing to do that on and 1 or a momentum shifter but you cant do it after every single dunk.

that said the guys' skillset is amazing and his IQ on pick and rolls is great as well..he needs to improve his jumper but with improvement there is no way this guy cant be a top 3 player in the NBA when he hits his prime. I dont think 25/15 as a seasonal average for him is too farfetched to say when he hits his prime.

as long as he stays healthy this guy is going to be a beast..i really hope he is the player the clippers were hoping to get to change the culture of that team.

I think the Clippers make the playoffs this year, and right now, they need to realize that Griffin is their best player.....and utilize him as such....

The Clippers finally have a lot of talent on that team....if they stay healthy, they are going to have the biggest turnaround in the league.

I think he's leading the preseason in assist. He gets his teammate involved. He needs to work on his shot though.

If Griffin plays like this Griffin will win ROY. Wall definitely isn't average in the athleticism department though.

I guess I just haven't seen him enough. Weren't his predraft workout numbers pretty average? I seem to remember him having a rather pedestrian vertical leap.

I've been supporting him since college. I'm quite sure DD can back me on this one. Blake has HOF talent rivaled only by Tim Duncan.

I agree. I think I've said similar things. It all comes down to health.

    Griffin, Wall, Cousins

It will be a good year for rookies.

And I haven't even mentioned Patrick Patteron yet.

I'm a UK fan so I saw him at UK. There were times were I wished he looked for his own shot. I think people have a misconception about him in thinking he's a shoot first type PG(Not talking about you).

I didn't see his workout numbers but during the game you can see the athleticism at times. Well I think for a PG his athleticism is above average. I don't think he's more athletic than Derrick Rose.

Wall is a great leader though. I think he will surprise you when you get a chance to see him play more.

Griffin finished with 17 pts and 14 rebs in a loss against the Jazz. He is getting 13+ rebounds every game. He might be a better rebounder that Dwight Howard.

yea I know it is just pre season....but I like his consistency and think he will probably only get better....if he can keep up the consistency throughout the season then I can't see him not winning the rookie award.
