guy went to high school and college in oklahoma, i'm not sure it would be hard to guess who he'd play for given the choice.
I know John Wall is good, but I would take Blake Griffin over ANYONE in the NBA to start a team. That kind of skill, BBall IQ and athleticism, combined with a great attitude....dude is amazing. DD
Haven't been able to see him play this year... how does he get most of his points and how is his defense? He comes off (albeit from highlight clips) as a young Amare/Shawn Kemp with Tim Duncan's brain and Shane Battier's hustle. That's a good ****ing combination.
He has it all, and it is only getting better, struggles at the FT line that is about it... Man, he is impressive and so quick for someone so big....he has a Hakeem like advantage out there in his size and quickness. DD
DD was driving and I was riding shotgun! One of the few times if only time I ever agreed with him. Been on this wagon a long time.
I can't agree more. I am blown away every time I watch this guy. I think he is still lacking with his team defense. He is way to athletic to be averaging less than a block a game. I think he already could be considered one of the top passing big men in the game today and would not be surprised if he can average 5 or 6 assists a game in the near future. His rebounding is elite and NO ONE can finish better than him around the rim. I think he will eventually shoot in the 70-75 percent range from the ft line(he has to good of a touch to be shooting the way he has so far). I disagree, only slightly, in that I would probably take Lebron over BG at this point. But the fact that he is in the discussion after only 19 or 20 games says alot.
Also, on another Note, Griffin is playing great, but Eric Gorden has really stepped up his game this year, Griffin and Eric G are the two peices the clippers can build around.
The one thing that impresses me the most is his maturity. Mature big men are so rare nowadays because most of them just coast in highschool/college. BG has come in with the mindset of a veteran from day 1, he knows he has a long way to go despite all his hype. His growth is especially amazing considering he landed on the Clippers AND suffered a season-ending injury his rookie year. Just look at how Greg Oden handled being scrutinized during his rookie year to see how good his comeback this year really is. Can you imagine how Cousins would have handled being in clipper land? LOL! If health permits it, I think we're looking at the person who will surpass TD as best PF of all time.
