First of all, if you can see in the video that he stepped back & lowered his shoulder, then you're Helen Keller(I love that commercial)! 2ndly, if the other 6fter lowers his shoulder & catches you in the rib cage, you're moving back braced or not!!! If you question that, talk to a line coach(offensive or defensive, it applies to both) or physics teacher and let them explain momentum & center of gravity.

And that's what buggs me about this team. Noone said or did anything to Love after he stepped on Scola's face. No hard foul no nothing. I would love to have a clone of Charles Barkley or Kevin Willis on the team right now! Course if we had one or both, we'd be finals contenders!

I never get those who complain that Scola doesn't "react" to these kinds of incidents. My guess is that early in his career, a coach ground it into him that you stay in the game and not let anger get you tossed. Scola does his own damage to the dudes he's playing against, but he's more subtle about it. He gives the hard elbow in the ribs or kidneys when the refs aren't looking, for example. It wouldn't surprise me if he'd pissed off Griffin. Certainly, his defense was frustrating Griffin, which I enjoyed seeing, a really outstanding game defensively being rare from my favorite Rocket.

I think Scola is the kind of player who would really step up his defense during the playoffs. I seem to recall it being better the season we made it in, and Yao was hurt against the Lakers. Scola tends to step up in big games. When he's gone, a lot of people here are going to miss him, whether they realize it now, or not. In my opinion. I agree that it would have been nice for a bench guy, like Smith, to put Griffin on his arse a bit after this happened. Someone should have, and yeah, Barkley or one of the Rockets from the championship era would have. I don't doubt that for a second.

Yeah Blake Griffin is just a dunker that averages 21 and 11 in his 2nd year in the NBA.
