Look at the play he got injured on; it's unbelievable, is this the first "dunked too hard" injury ever? Here's Bill Simmons' Open Letter to Blake Griffin, and here's what he said in his NBA Preview : See, Simmons doesn't know what he's talking about; it was 3 days, and a kneecap, rather than an ankle in 3 weeks! As Rockets fans, I hope everyone can commiserate with another non-rival team over big-man injuries. I still like the Clippers team, though; now they've got "Nobody Believed in Us!" potential again after becoming a sexy sleeper pick (they're the Anti-Texans!), and are due for big years from Baron and "Hobbit". Now if only Dunleavy the GM would fire Coach Dunleavy...
Okay, who didn't predict that Blake Griffin would end up with an injury in some way or another within the first three weeks?
Ugh! Man I really wanted to see this guy play. Although it's not looking good so far...what is this, his 2nd injury so far as a pro? And the regular season hasn't even started yet.
Oden? Limitless potential? Oden was breaking down even in college. Besides all you really have to do is look at his body and see that not only does he look old, his body seems worn out already lol. I see this injury as inevitable, kinda' like with Livingston. The thing with Griffin is he's blessed with too much athleticism its killing his knees and ankles. Someone as big and massive as him shouldn't be able to jump that high, and his knees and joints are buckling under the massive impact whenever he lands from his jumps. Hopefully he tones it down. Griffin has a lot of other moves in his repertoire anyway
Is anyone actually surprised? He was touted by the scouts as injury prone because of his previous injuries.
Do they start Camby alongside Kaman? Kind of interesting. Kaman had a solid year before last seasons injury, probably better than the one Griffin could potentially reach this season. Wouldn't be surprised if by the time Griffin comes back he is the designated 6th man. I am like 70% serious here guys.
The Clippers will always be the Clippers (unless they pick up a motivated Sam Cassell). I feel bad for Griffin. He seems like a good kid, who will be stuck in NBA purgatory for awhile. We can definitely pencil in the Kings, Wolves, Warriors, Grizzlies, and now the Clippers for Lottery Land.
