I wouldn't do the trade if I was Cleveland. Kylie is hitting big shots in the playoffs. Chris Paul always chokes in the playoffs.
Good point, the cap will jump more and by signing a "1+1" deal, he would qualify for the "10-year tier" player max, which would be 35% of salary cap.
Most people? Who exactly? Because i think a lot of people actually think the opposite. Personally i'm pretty sure he'll not risk after his last injuries.
Irving wasn't even able to lead the Cavs to the playoffs less than 2 years ago, and that east was absolutely terrible, Paul is on another level as today.
A deal with the devil has some sort of insidious double-twist to it. I haven't seen any evidence of that for Curry. His team gets all of the breaks.
Are you familiar with a man named Donald Sterling? Also, between flopping and whining, I'm pretty sure Chris and Blake aren't the first entries under "sportsmanship" anywhere.
Wojnarowsi, in his article about the Warriors being the likeliest non-Thunder team for Durant, said that most people expect him to sign a one-and-one, as I recall. I've also seen other articles to that effect.
Mavs aren't going anywhere; their best player is still Dirk. You can't be relying upon him for huge minutes at this stage of his career
Yeah, i've also seen some articles writing that, but they said the same about LMA last year, to me is just an argument to keep a door open...Durant also had that foot injury which is not that great looking forward, would be a great risk for him...and all for what? To play another year with a pretender? Not happening (imo obviously)
What? Why would anyone want to go be a fan of the unluckiest team in the league? That's masochistic. Sterling owned that team for two forevers. And Paul and Griffin joined the team while Sterling owned them with nary a peep of indignation about their employer's scumminess. Paul was traded to the team after 'basketball reasons.' DeAndre Jordan backed out on his word. I think they still have some bad karma to work through.
They were horribly managed for decades under Sterling and deserved their records during that time. As for today's cast? They're still poorly managed under Doc Rivers. He traded for his son, spoon fed him minutes he didn't deserve, and gave him a contract purely out of nepotism. Deandre Jordan backed out of a verbal agreement in free agency and didn't have the decency to let the other party know. He's absolutely free to change his mind in a non-binding situation, but that is classless. Griffin straight up assaulted a team staff member with just a short team suspension as punishment. Paul is actually the best of the bunch and doesn't seem like a bad guy. Shameless flopper, though.
Man, I'd love to swoop in and steal some of their guys. Redick would be a nice fit to Harden; I'd like DeAndre Jordan or Blake Griffin here but there's no way we'd be able to get him. I could see the Celtics swooping in and picking up Griffin, they've got a lot to offer.
God damn that coulda been the Rockets. It chaps my ass that this team didn't push harder this season. Talk about all the lucky breaks we could get, Curry goes down, the Griz are done, Paul and Griff are down, and yet we get all hum and glum about a bad start. Ugh.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Doc finally letting go. After so many years of being "right there," I'm not sure he has it in him to get this group of Clippers over the hump. He's made the organization better as a whole, but with these injuries, and another season of blowing it all in the playoffs, I don't know if there's much more room for the same formula. I agree that Blake has played his last game as a Clipper, but I also see this team making huge changes that leave it past the "rebuild mode," but well below contention. CP3 is getting older, and I'm sure he's tired of being the MVP-caliber guard who hasn't had a breath of the WCF or the ultimate trip to the NBA finals. He may want out. The Clips have a good centerpiece, but they need some upgrades. This group had a small window to do big things, and they have blown it.
