In some weird, cursed way this could turn out true of whichever QB the Texans don't roll with.

LOL not this guy. Bortles will be out of the league after his rookie contract.
    . Gabbert 2.0

This guy is going to get a GM drafting him in top 10 fired.

Watching a couple of games from him, I just don't see great passing talent in him at all.

The vast majority of UCF passing plays are half field reads. He barely does any NFL throws, just a whole bunch of short passing.

And he doesn't seem to be that great in the mental side of the ball in his decision makings.

He is a first round bust waiting to happen. He could be a good 2nd round project, but that's all I see in him at the NFL level.

I've only seen Bortles play a few times throughout his career and I saw alot of screen passes for the most part. But it's not about what we see or think it's about what O'Brien thinks _ someone who has actually developed quarterbacks and maybe he thinks Bortles is someone he can develop. Bortles may not have played in a system were you can really get a good gage of his QB abilities but he does possibly have the best NFL measurables of the bunch _ as in size and arm strength.

EJ Manual and Geno Smith would probably be top draft pick prospects in this draft so Bortles moving up the board is of no surprise.

Do you think ej Manuel and geno smith would rank higher than Bridgewater in this draft?

EJ and Geno would definitely be behind Bridgewater and Manziel in this draft...there is a reason why those guys went #16 and #39 in the draft, even though there were a lot of teams that needed QBs.

wow, if we're talking 1-1, Teddy needs to be in another league than Geno and EJ. Those guys were horrible last year.

It would depend on the year they would've had, but Geno in college was better than Bortles.

Things always change.. Heck Tajh Boyd was considered a top QB prospect before the season started and I think he can be just as good as Johnny, Teddy, Carr, etc with the right coaching. He's Russell Wilson 2.0 in my opinion. He's a little taller and built like a running back and has a good arm.

All I know is _ they may say Teddy is the best of the bunch, but the same experts who say that say there's no elite talent in the group _ including Teddy.

That's not true... Teams weren't as QB thirsty as they are this year because you still had teams rolling with their young guys like Pounder, Weeden, and Gabbert.

    Yeah, let this happen.

Think of hearing his name every week. You almost can't say it without sounding derisive, it's kind of built in to the sound of his name. Even better than schaub. "Come on BORTLES." "Nooo DAMIT bortles!

The combine will tell GM's and coaches all they need to know. Any official word on Hundley yet? He could be the #2 QB taken if he enters.

That happens every year. This year, it will be teams rolling with young guys like Geno Smith, EJ Manuel, and Mike Glennon.

Yea, but teams weren't as thirsty for QBs in last year's draft. Even The Jets already had a QB in place. That's why I'm saying Geno fell. If he could have waited to come out he would be a first round pick in this draft.

Geno would not be picked ahead of teddy or Bortles this year or even manziel.

Dude all I said is he would go in the first round, I didn't say where in the 1st. And how many games have you actually seen Bortles play to know that for sure...??? I've only seen him play a handful of times throughout his career and I saw mostly screen passes and I only think he's being talked about being drafted so high because of his body build compared to the other guys at the top and there being no clear #1 choice in this draft. Geno would be highly talked about in this draft and his name would be up there in the top.

Bortles is smart to come out this year tho... Because next year there should be Famous Jamies, Marcus, Hundley, etc in the draft and he probably wouldn't even be thought about until the 3rd round and beyond.

Well to be honest i only seen a couple of games of Bortles, he looks a lil like big ben,
but you are right alot of screen passes, but he has showed some flashes of mevement and deep ball.. I still think Teddy is the more polisdhed, and Manziel the more dynamite... I think we will be alright with whoever we choose, but again if you think Teddy can be a franshice QB, and he is projected as a No # 1 pick , thank you take him.. Just makes since

Well, I seen a bunch of Geno's game and Bortles had nothing on him in college.

Being more polished playing in a weak conference that he didn't necessarily dominate like he should have (to be considered for a #1 pick) _ doesn't impress me. And I love Johnny but I wouldn't draft him either and I definitely wouldn't draft Bortles. I wouldn't draft none of these dudes in the first round. But I'm not the GM.
