Blake Bortles will not be the #1 pick of the draft. He may be the next quarterback of the texans but it won't be at that slot. No freaking way.

Bill O'Brien is a far smarter football man than any of us and I'll get behind whoever he thinks can lead this team next season but man that would be a gut buster of a choice on paper.

So was Mario over Bush and VY. You never know what could happen and we haven't seen BOB in this position before. We'll see how it plays out but I doubt he would take him as well.

Well at the time I think most people thought Bush was the clear cut number 1 from the championship game to really draft night. VY had his supporters but I don't recall ever feeling like the texans were going that route. Mario did seem to come out of nowhere to replace Bush but he was also a completely different position. It wasn't another RB that we ended up with.

That said, of course anything could happen and Bortles may be the 1-1 but man I find that very odd as it stands today.

    haha my thoughts exactly...

but i think he will bust no matter what.. so declaring is probably the smart thing to do.

Would be hilarious if Jags drafted him IMO

Now that they are done actually playing football, with the combine and workouts, etc, someone will fall in love with the tools.

He's probably the 3rd QB this year. He's not going to do better next year with Mariota, and Winston, end Hundley, and others in the mix.

Question guys. If mariota declared would he be ahead of Bridgewater?

According to most scouts, no, but it was close. But his stock may have skyrocketed after the combine due to his athleticism, which may have given him a slight edge.

Yeap... And if Hundley came out he might be in the mix as well. And it's not about who's ahead in the rankings it's about who O'Brien and Smith want.

I mean by now BOB should be fully aware McNair wants to "reload" rather than "rebuild". So I don't see any way they can use 1.1 on a QB that'll require the most time and development. Meanwhile Bridgewater should be able to step in day one and take the reins with his polished skillset.

it all depends on who you ask...

mariota has 4.3 speed & can make all of the throws.

but, he comes from a spread offense.. and going from spread -> pro style can be a lengthy transition and very difficult.

mariota might have the higher overall ceiling, but bridgewater is the safer bet.

This enhances the value of the Texans pick with B-Borts in the draft. Not sure if he's the answer for the Texas and BO'B, but it's good for the pick value nevertheless.

Yea that's what I think he's the most polished. And I wouldn't be suprised if he runs in the 4.3 in his combine I think he has speed just doesn't use it that often

Bridgewater does not have 4.3 speed.

He should clock in at 4.5-4.6

Wouldn't you? I mean, from his perspective. I just hope we don't fall on the Bortlesword somehow.

So who do you rank higher: Bortles or Bridgewater?
