I think it's more of just a response to there not being any top tier talent at the QB position in this draft. There is a ton of pretty good QB prospects, but no real number one type guy so they have to hype someone and there has been several QB's that have been hyped at different times in this class.
Probably the biggest reason this drives me mad. Some folks I trust are telling me Bortles to the Texans is going to happen, but all I can think about is the "connecting the dots" writers & analysts did for Ryan Nassib last year. In the end, I truly believe the decision comes down to Teddy & Clowney. As it should.
Go and find out what those guys you trust were saying 4 months ago about Bortles. I'd really be curious to see that. Almost 100% certain they'd be super down on him but who knows.

I'm with you on that one, it's just John McClain's overhyping/Ag fanboys that are getting people thinking that it actually is a possibility.

I just cannot see Bill O'Brien being impressed with his shtick. That article in the Chronicle probably rubbed him the wrong way. Again, just my opinion.

He's not bad but he's a project. He's not a first overall pick. Teddy imo is the only one worthy of being picked #1.

He has Cyrus Kouandjio at 28 to Carolina... The guy had a horrible combine, and failed his physical because of a bum knee. He's probably a 3rd rounder at best. Off the top of my head, Kelvin Benjamin and Ha Ha Clinton Dix are the biggest names still on the board to start round two.
