I like the traditional childhood. If you wanna be PC about it, then the traditional 'Americana' childhood of the 50s. It taps into a nostalgia that's endearing.
the christmas story is awesome. and that is not mutually exclusive with trading places also being awesome. now neither is christmas vacation b/c i just don't see how you can top it, but i'm fine with the 24 hour marathon. people aren't going to be around their tv's at the same time with all the family get togethers on christmas eve/day, so if they only showed it once, a lot of people wouldn't get their one viewing in each year. i think i've pieced together the whole movie over the marathon so i like it. if tnt ran christmas vacation 24 hours straight at the same time, we'd be set.
Behold....the greatest christmas story ever told. <img src="http://img.epinions.com/images/opti/94/17/221536-movie-resized200.jpg">
"A Christmas Story" is a classic and I watch it every year on TBS. "Trading Places" is also awesome, I have it on DVD... but despite Winthorpe eating a stolen loaf of bread on the subway dressed as Santa, it's not really a Christmas movie. Gotta love Jamie Lee's breasts, though!
