I live in a very multi-ethnic/multi-racial community I noticed this as well.

Actually, I noticed a lot of people in GENERAL (black, white, asian, hispanic, etc) seem to be in a good mood these days. I think people are optimistic of having a new president. But black people in particular seem to be happier these days, which is understandable. I think any minority group would feel this way. You would see the same thing if an Asian or a Hispanic became president. So don't take this wrong way; like I'm implying black people are USUALLY not in a good mood - that's NOT what I'm saying.

You can just tell when people are happy by the way they smile, carry themselves, etc.

I didn't really read OP's post, but I agree with the words in his title.

Dude don't worry that's just how this forum is. It's easier just to mock it.

I'm wondering what the OP is doing to get that sort of reaction initially.

I generally do not look happy. I guess people either take it like "OK leave that dude alone" or "wow that guy has had a bad day, I'll try to cheer him up"

Its nice to see more of the positive.

I think the thread starter is on to something. I don't think it's just blacks, but liberals in general.

Not only was history made, but after the last 8 years, I feel like we beat the evil empire and took our country back.I can still picture what seemed like the world celebrating in my head. Those images will be something I remember for the rest of my life.I am one of the people who actually believed in this dude from day one and not because of color, but he seemed like a political breathe of fresh air.I always felt no matter what the critics said that he could win if people gave him a chance to be the democratic nominee, and that's what happened. The biggest thing for me is how the entirre tire world saw something in this man that right wingers refused to see.I am sure he will make mistakes, just like any other president before him, but I see a work ethic in him and a seriousness to get the job done, unlike anybody I witnssed in a while.

The guy just campagined for 2 years straight for about 14 hours a day with sundays off here and there and didn't complain about it at all.

I'm glad we have a president that will work multitask, work hard, and won't have to go to go to bed early because of his age.

rev wright served this country in the miltary for years when he was younger, so I'm pretty sure he loves this country just like we do.I see nothing wrong with being critical about govermental decision especially when things are not adding up..anything less in my book means u have a low political efficacy and that's very unpatriotic....I don't think you meant any harm, but the way you worried it make it easy to assume.

well I took it personally when he attacked our decision to drop the atomic bomb and called it terrorism trying to put the people who attacked us on 9-11-01 on our level.

he is going beyond just questioning government at that point.

I'm calling the phenomenon being 'Obamafied".

It's kind of like being stoned in the age of Aquarius. I walk around Texas and see the folks you know voted for Obama, the hipper cooler smarter people, and we just look at each other with this knowing half smile and we have this sort of unspoken "Hell Yeah!, Peace Love and Understanding Brother!".

    It's great.

Why are you? Dont take it personally that many more INNOCENT people died from the atomic bomb than from 9/11. It just depends on the point of view

Plus its not that blacks are happy, its more that we are proud of our country more than anything. We understand it wasnt just b/c blacks turned out to vote. But all races felt Obama (a biracial but seen as black man) was better candidate.

So many people have hope again and are supporting and looking to a Black man to help make that change. That's awesome. I am proud of America. I'm proud to know that other races saw more than race and saw a great man. They saw more than a steretype that wrongly defines us. Its beautiful. It gives me hope that WE can all stand united regardless of race one day

Well, he's 50% white and 50% black, so that means I'm supposed to be 50% happier and 50% angrier...so nothing changes...just as I anticipated.

If this thread was titled, "Obama supporters are happier" that would have made more sense to me. As it stands, I see why they may have treated you like this in the first place. That said, I think your heart is in the right place, but you need to process it differently in your head.

well if i could tell someone was an Obama supporter as easy as I could see their race then you might have a point.

From the little observation I've had...I agree with the OP on this one.

I was speaking to a buddy of mine from New York who played college ball with me (and yes, I'm white he's black) and he was explaining that he's never been more proud to be black. He said he used to always feel racism throughout New York, to the point where he was looking to move to Canada (where we went to school together)...but since the election things have changed.

Also, here in Canada you'll find that Blacks are extremely proud of this election. I'm proud of the decision too - as a big Obama supporter - but it's definitely in a different way. And I completely understand it...this election is monumental.

    Some of you guys just....suck.

The OP came from his heart and all you guys can do is dump on him.

Sheesh...you guys can be so hateful sometimes...so stuck on your own perception thinking its the only perception.

Then of course the ever present "pile-on".

well since you had no problem reading their minds as to reasons why they treat you better, i thought you may have been on to something.

    my bad.
