Your history knowledge is severely lacking. Or maybe your understanding of conservative and liberal is extremely lacking.

Trump isn't really fiscally liberal or socially conservative. He doesn't have a consistent ideology or economic policy. While he consistently takes a hard line on trade rhetorically that is undercut by the trade moves he's made such as updating and rebranding NAFTA as the USMCA and lifting sanctions coincidentally on countries that have provided some benefit to him and his family. On spending he's all over the place. He's certainly appointed socially conservative judges but he himself was a former donor to Planned Parenthood not that long ago and has President not only talked about taking guns away without due process but tried to enact more gun control that was blocked by the Republican Congress.

From the stuff posted by the OP the attraction of Trump to young black males appears to be primarily aspirational and more about an image than a substance. The view of success and masculinity seems to be much closer to bling and misogyny of many rappers.

This is true. However, when I say Trumpism I essentially mean conservative populism which is what he ran on in 2016. That's what people were energized by and what won over some independent voters. The lack of consistency is actually part of the appeal. He's not seen as a hard liner. If you come see him and say nice things he may give your group some money. He's no deficit hawk. His lack of follow through though on those promises is a big reason why there is less overall support this time around and why he'll likely lose (in addition to covid response, social unrest, etc).

I will say there are quite a few black folks that are only Democrats by name. Many of their values align with Republicans if you take it issue by issue.

Republicans could win a couple percentage pts of black voters by simply saying the words 'black lives matter' and acknowledging racism exists.

Black men are increasingly drifting from the Democratic to the Republican Party, according to an Election Day poll of voters.

General support for the Democratic presidential candidate among Black men slipped during Tuesday’s vote — highlighting an apparent shift among a key political demographic over the last three elections, according to the survey conducted by NBC News.

While 82% of Black men voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016, only 80% showed up for Joe Biden on Election Day 2020, the network reported.

By comparison, when Barack Obama was first elected president in 2008, 95% of Black men cast a vote for the Democrat, but four years later only 87% of Black men cast a ballot for the president’s 2012 reelection, a dramatic fall of 8%.

Obama’s support among Black women remained at 96% during both wins. Clinton saw 94% support among Black women in 2016, but that demographic slid to 91% for Biden on Tuesday, the network reported, adding that Biden still received 9 of 10 votes from Black female voters.

You did not read the receipts. That's 10 points off.

Trump only pulled from the margins and it wasn’t really about race, it was about men. Toxic masculinity isn’t only a white person issue and Trump appeals to insecure men.

Those same voters would love someone like the Lt gov of PA John Fetterman who is very much a no nonsense tough guy although he is a liberal Democrat. But someone like Biden has more appeal to the suburban women and other groups so it all kind of evened out.

But no Biden had ridiculous support from the African American voters. They single handily delivered Biden victory in GA, PA, WI, and MI. Biden owes them by having a very equitable policy platform and going out of his way to use executive power for issues concerning the black community. They didn’t have to show up for him but they did, and he owes them.

I still love the fact that generally the more time you have spent in school and/or more educated the higher probability that you did not vote trump.

I presume if you had IQ increments at several levels that the higher you go the more it would skew against Trump.

    Seriously, I think that’s hilarious.
