OVER MY DEAD BODY! It's mine! (There's also a Toshiba laptop, if you're ahead of me in line, I'd suggest you get that one)
What are you dumbasses still doing at home? There's a huge line already outside of the Best Buy in Sugar Land.
What's great about the lines is ... I get to laugh at all the people standing outside in the cold all night while I sit in my comfy chair at home and order online for the exact same price. (Thanks, Circuit City, for my shiny new 52" HDTV).
I just came back from CompUSA. All the idiots who camped out at Circuit City and Best Buy haven't heard of price matching?! Store opened at 9. I was at the end of the line at 845. Got in at about 915. Picked up everything I wanted (except the blue tooth headset) And now I'm already home about to play with all my new goodies. And no need for me to wake up early in the morning
Anyone have any news on the Best Buy on HW6 across west oaks mall? im planning to leave around 3 am? good choice or no?
Sears does price matching too...but they don't open until manana...I am not camping out...I'll just wait it out...Friends of mine passed by the BB in Flower Mound (100 people) and Irving (60 people)...F that... I didn't know about the same price online...well, they don't price match online that is... EDIT: Found the stuff I wanted on BB.com, but it won't let me check out...WTF... my friends did go stand in line...they think they're about 100th in line...Most of the stuff they wanted wasn't avail. on line...come to think of it, neither is my crap...
There were probably over 60 people in line at 10 pm with more joining. How Hot of an item are you wanting to get? The line at the Circuit City near Home Depot was probably half as long as the Best Buy line.
So I'm looking through these ads. What, exactly, is worth staying overnight and getting into these stores at 5am for? Or do people do it for tradition/the experience?
It seems to be the new cool thing to do around here (in houston). Ever since the PS3 thing, People like to camp out for Anything and Everything.. You would think in a city this big, people would have better things to do than camp out for days(missing work and such) and have better things to do. Or rather, wouldn't have to act like hobos just to save a couple bucks. EDIT: I'm just angry because I wish I could just show up when the store opens and get my great deal.. But these peeps are obviously more desperate than I am.. And that makes me angry because of this ridiculously high number of desperate people.
Hey guys I'm actually posting direct from microcenter in Houston right now, I'm number 41 in line and going for a 37" olevia LCD for $500. There are currently 97 people in line.
If you make $6 bucks an hour then it's worth it to wait in line and save $100-200 bucks. Then again, if you make $6 an hour, maybe you shouldn't be spending your excess money.
I decided to walk across the street to CompUSA just for kickers and see what was there. Found a GeForce 6600 for $70. Not bad...I needed one so I picked it up. (OT ... wth is with HDMI cables costing $125 each?)
www.svideo.com Don't waste your money on overpriced HDMI cables. I think Miguel mentioned another site with reasonably priced HDMI cables: www.monoprice.com
Just got back from Best Buy. We went there at 6 p.m. and there was already 50 people in line. But we set out to camp anyways. I did get the 42" Panasonic Plasma. But the laptops tickets were out way before they got to us. So basiclly I got the TV as doorbuster item. An Philips shaver for 24 bucks, an 2GB USB drive for 30, and a 8" portable dvd player for 70. Arrested Development Season 3 and The Office DVD set for 20 bucks each. It was an interesting experiance, but I'm not sure if I would ever do this again.
Yeah. I just got back from Black Friday too. Stood in line at Toys R Us with no plan in mind. Just checking to see if they had a Wii and if there was anything else interesting. My wife made me go but I refused to go with her to Walmart so we split up. Toys R Us did not have the Wii nor anything else I was interested in. I went to Best Buy and they didn't have the Wii either. But I did pick up a Canon Pixma color printer for $19.95. I also got the 2GB Sandisk SD card for $29.95. And Xbox 360 Table Tennis for $18.95. Some pretty good deals but I also am not sure if I would do it again. The lines were frigging long and I got to Toys R Us at 4:55am.
