Personally I wouldn't buy it but just putting it out there for someone who doesn't have the money or doesn't care.

I don't know about gaming, but hooked up the computer via hdmi and the 1080p looks good. I messed around with the picture settings. I think it was 49 brightness 50 contrast 43 color 0 tint 15 sharpness color temp-normal I used the dvd essentials to calibrate it.
