Can someone give me an opinion on this desktop: HP Desktop w/ Intel i3-2120 CPU, 8GB RAM, 1.5TB HDD $399 http://bfads.net/Staples-Black-Friday-HP-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Core-i32120-Processor I'm looking for the best bang for your buck and this one appears to have a ton of memory and from what I have read about the processor it's pretty fast. Worth it or are there better deals in this price range?
It is a 10pm item. As I've said earlier in this thread, each Walmart varies some in how they do it, but the merchandise is usually brought out about an hour in advance, to make sure it is all on the floor by the sale time. For the most part they can't stop people from grabbing stuff once it is on the floor. Once the maps are out, we should know what will be on the floor, and what will be a line.
I wouldn't mind picking up an inexpensive sound bar with a sub, preferably wireless. One that sounds good. Any of those around? It's for a bedroom.
anyone have a site that shows discounted dvds/blu-rays? looking at picking up some tv series that might be discounted.
Samsung sound bar w/sub 197.99 @ bestbuy Samsung soundbar NO SUB 98.99 @ walmart I was considering a soundbar a few months back but after messing with the in store i decided against them, the sound from the few i tested were not the best. http://bfads.net/Ad/Best-Buy-2011/Page2 http://bfads.net/Ad/Walmart-2011/Page7
Oh, there's no question that a surround system sounds better, all things being equal, but a decent soundbar, with sub, sounds far better than the sound coming from your typical flatscreen display (at least this one). Since it's for a bedroom, which has an old 42" LCD in it, and space is at a premium, simply improving the sound with an SB and sub is enough for my purposes. As for Samsung, I just don't care for how they look. I prefer my speakers to have a grill. Why Samsung doesn't make them like that is a mystery to me. If someone wants to look at a "bare" speaker, they can usually remove the grill themselves. Thanks for the suggestion, though. -
Anybody hear of any good deals on tablets? I think I remember reading somebody was doing the Blackberry Playbook for $200 ($300 down from regular price). I'm somewhat intrigued but I've heard it received poor reviews.
Stay away from the playbook. it's a POS. We've had about 60% of them returned. Our first 2 batches we received were defective. Honeycomb is the way to go. The Toshiba Thrive Honeycomb Tablet was $299 on Newegg a few days ago, probably sold out. The Acer Iconia will be $349 on Black Friday @ Staples. http://www.fatwallet.com/black-friday/deals.php?f=1&subCategoryId[]=269
Thanks for the tip. Yeah, all the reviews seem to be negative. Not only that but the screen is only 7". I have an Ipod Touch -- the Playbook's screen size won't be much bigger than that. Pass.
I just got my Acer A500 tablet from EBay's Daily Deals, last Monday. Its a refurbed for $260, used a $15 groupon I got a few months back, so it came out to $245 with free shipping. I was debating on this or the 7in Acer A500 for $190 at Best Buy for their BF special, but figured it'd be around $205 after tax and for $40 more for a bigger screen and twice the memory it'll be worth it. Plus Acer announced it'll update their tablets to Ice Cream in the coming months.
I've had my eye on a tv from amazon.com. The price was $1,300 on Monday, I was hesitant to buy because I was hoping that the price would drop a little more as the holiday shopping season approaches .I checked this morning and the price is now $1,500! Should I buy it now before the price goes any higher? The price everywhere else on this tv is $2,000.
^ I'd wait until Cyber Monday at this point. Even if you don't see it Monday after Thanksgiving, last year they had some BF type specials on TVs a couple of weeks before Christmas. Retailers start to panic and drop the price turn a small profit and get rid of inventory before year-end. ...but that's just me...
We have the previous Samsung sound bar with the 'grill' and it works and sounds great. We want to buy another for the lake house, but just can't bring ourselves to buy the one without the grill.
Sounds like you definitely made the smart choice there. I really want a tablet and I'm starting to wonder if I should just go with an Ipad2. I'm happy you got a great product for half the price, but if crap-tastic options like the Blackberry Playbook or other 7" tablets that do nothing for me are my only options, I might just breakdown and go with the more expensive Apple product. In all fairness, for 10" tablet devices the 16 GB Ipad2 for $500 is in the same range that the competitor's products seem to go (i.e. Motorola Xoom, etc).
Motorola released 16GB "Family" Xooms for $399, I think Best Buy has them on sale this week for $379. 10 inch tablets are nice, not really much bigger than the standard iPad's 8.9 but I just prefer Honeycomb/Android. If your getting into an iPad, Micro Center has then $50 off their regular price this week I believe, I got an email about it a few days ago. If your really looking into get a Honeycomb tablet, keep you eyes out on the 1 sale a day type sites (eBay Daily deals, Woot, 1saleaday.com, dailysteals.com), they've had plenty of Honeycomb tablets for sale the past few weeks, everything from the Toshiba Thrive, Xoom, and even the Galaxy 10.1 tab for good prices, some new, some refurbed.
The biggest difference between the Ipad and the android tablets is the aspect ratio. Even though it's like half an inch difference the widescreen allows the movies I play to fill the screen better. Only thing that sucks about widescreen is holding it in portrait mode. Seems so tall.
