Toys R Us did the exact same thing last year. This year they are opening at 10pm on Thanksgiving, and some deals will be available then, while others won't start until 5am.

Walmart's in some locations are open 24 hrs.

What they're doing is starting their black friday sales at midnight, but you can't get their electronics and stuff until the 5am thing

FYI- I can't stand the BF craziness, so I haven't been in over a decade. However, I discovered last year that Sears Home Stores, which are smaller local stores, will honor black friday deals. I hit one around 11am, and if they were out, they even ordered the pieces I wanted for the BF prices.

completely unorganized. The clientele they attract is also very malicious and tend to start fights. Just too many people. The wait at checkout is ridiculous. I lost a lot of time just waiting at checkout.

I recomend going to smaller towns to avoid big crowds.

I went to Baytown and hit up all the stores I wanted and got 75% of what I wanted in less than 3 hours. I was home by 8am.

I live in a smaller town in Arkansas. We have two Walmart SuperCenters in town but there is one in a much smaller town of about 5,000 people about 15 minutes away. Do you suggest I go to that one?

BB has never been a big problem for me, but it can be time consuming, though it varies by store.

I've never tried going for a doorbuster at Wal-Mart, but if they just put out the pallets, that is just asking for problems.

My mom went to one a couple years ago in Searcy, AR and they actually handed out tickets for items people were waiting in line for, they didn't just bring out a pallet and drop it. I'm just wondering if that is standard procedure at all Walmarts now or is it just some that have selected to do this?

I have a cousin who has a cousin that is a manager at one of the local Walmarts and I have asked her to contact him. I guess I'll see what he says.

I'd figure, I could use them for Black Friday cause who the *** wants to wait in line and go shopping at 5 AM, seriously??? I'm gonna be drunk and high as **** passed out in my front lawn in the first place.. I will pay them $50 bucks to wait in line and go shopping for a sweet deal on a laptop...

Actually I've been noticing more black people chilling with the mexicans at the home depot looking for day labor. Sings of the times, I have a black guy who cuts my yard, since he undercuts the mexicans in price by 50% .

Probably because people campout at 10pm the night before, and then there was the person at a Walmart that was trampled to death.

Didn't some goober Walmart manager last year decide to have people sprint in a foot race from the edge of the parking lot to the front door to see how the line would be made up?

Some dude ended up breaking his nose, I think.

I wonder what time I would need to get to Target to get an Xbox and the 32" Samsung. 10PM? 8PM?

Anybody know if Microsoft is doing the search thing where you get so much off when you buy at featured sites online?

Depends on the area in which you live, if it's a large busy area... I would suggest midnight. 8-10 pm might be too early... I've been to Target in my area (which is a pretty busy one) and I went around 1 am... was near the beginning of the line.

You mean Bing Cash back? If so, that ended a while back.
