Yeah, thanks. When waiting in line do you bring chairs and such? What about in a 24/7 store like Walmart?
If you don't have a bluray player to go with your new HDTV I'd recommend the PS3 over the Xbox. You want to take advantage of high def movies on your new TV. Also if you play online games the free online play of the Ps3 will save you money in the long run over the Xbox. But that also depends on what games you want to play. Xbox has some good exclusives like the Halo and Gears of War series.
Xbox > PS3 in gaming. Black ops is better on Xbox. NBA 2k11 is also better on Xbox. You don't want to have to deal with the yellow ring of death.
I have little to no interest in Blu Ray. I'm going to be using Netflix mostly, if I watch a movie at all. The majority of the games I want are on xbox, and more of my friends play on XBL than PSN. Also, the 50 dollar giftcard is only with the xbox at target... pretty easy decision.
Not going to turn this into a PS3 vs Xbox fan boy war. I have both systems and I personally use the PS3 a lot more. It just depends on what you need/want.
I'm not a fan boy of either console. I'm looking at it as objectively as possible as I too have both systems.
Yup sounds like a pretty easy decision for you. The Netflix streaming is great and they continue to improve it. Hopefully the online library continues to grow and they have newr and newer movies available via instant stream. Some of the HD streams do look pretty good. Good luck on Black Friday. I don't think I'll ever want to wait in line again and fight the crowds again.
If you look at it objectively then you can't claim the Xbox is better than the PS3. It really just comes down to which games you like better and which features you want. very good ps3 exclusives/features you cant get on xbox Uncharted 2 Kill Zone 2 GT5 These are some of the best looking games on any console. Features: BluRay player Free online now I admit a lot of games that are on both systems do look better on the Xbox because it was the lead platform they developed on and then it gets ported to the PS3. So games like Red Dead Redemption, etc look slightly more polished on the Xbox. And awesome games you cant get on the Ps3 that are on xbox Gears of War series Halo series Mass Effect Also the new Kinnect although I think so far it sucks for real games is pretty neat for scrolling through menus. I was testing it out at the Microsoft store. Pretty neat stuff
I'm not claiming that the Xbox is a better system than the PS3... so you can throw the features out. Honestly, the online experience, the graphics on some of these games, and the selection of games really puts the gaming part of Xbox over the gaming part of PS3. Yes, it does depend on your preference in terms of gaming selection, but if you were to throw that category out, you can put Xbox above PS3 for the other two reasons.
I think I may go with that 37 inch tv that Walmart will be offering. I feel like Fry's wont be offering anything better than that for some reason. They're not in position here to wait it out unless as said earlier, they have something that will blow you away
VERY TRUE, u may have noticed that retailers are just slapping the "BLACK FRIDAY" tag on every sale they've had the past month, some did it back in July saying "BLACK FRIDAY SALES IN JULY" instead of Xmas in July. Do your research, dealnews.com is the best site I got for daily deals everyday, not just Black Friday, and they do a damn good job at it.
Any of these places going to have good online deals? I know they have "cyber monday" which has been damn disappointing. I have to be at work by 6:00 on black Friday, I think I can get in and out for some deals before that.
I believe a lot of these retailers online sites hold sales as well on BF starting around midnight on BF and then continuing on until Monday evening, so you can try those out.
not sure if anybody noticed in the Walmart ad, but the first 7 or so pages are deals just 5am-11am ONLY, but the rest of the ad, except for the last 2 pages, are deals that start at 12:01am on Black Friday. Walmart is setting a precedent for they are the first to do this between the major retailers. (I know that some malls including Katy Mills opened at Midnight last year).
For stores not open, we brought chairs, blankets, DVD players and snacks. For Walmart, we did not wait that long, but we had asked if we could bring a chair for my father-in-law and they said it was OK, but he decided not to go for the deal. I recommend finding a Walmart manager the day before and asking them where the pallet will be for your preferred purchase and if it is OK to bring a chair.
What do you mean by that? Don't most retailers open at 4 or 5am on BF? I guess Walmart opens at midnight or something...?
