Not black friday related but on their ad for this week there is a special on a 42 inch lcd LG, slim black xbox 360 and cod black ops for 999. That's a steal Spoiler
Actually... that's not really a steal compared to buying it individually on BF. 42" LG's (at least from the early BF ads) are going for around $450... The slim Xbox (assuming its the one with 250GB) would be $400... some places will most likely do the GC/store credit deal where they give you at least a $50 GC/store credit. Black ops.. $60. Still comes under 1k... that's an estimate btw.. you could see even better deals depending on later BF ads.
whoops. put this in the deals thread on accident. Costco just released their BF ad. 32 inch vizio is going to be 279 Vizio 42 inch tv will be 489 Vizio 47 inch tv will be 649 Vizio 55 inch tv will be 909 no sale on a 37 incher I may just go with that 32 incher and then turn it into my bedroom tv once i move... despite the bad reviews They also had this 32 inch westinghouse LED for 319... http://www.amazon.com/Westinghouse-LD-3255VX-32-Inch-720p-Black/dp/B003SZRWBO decent reviews
yea, should work, I heard those Western Digital Media Center/Players are solid, they play more video types then the others. I'm debating on getting one, but my 360 does the job for me right at midnight on Thanksgiving, they have the same deals on their website, I'd try to get one on there first so u dont have to wait in line. if you can't, I'd suggest getting there around 2-3 hours before they open at 5am I believe. I would say that Netbooks aren't in demand because of the popularity of iPad/Tablets and people are dumb thinking not having a CD-Rom makes a big difference. Once your allowed in, the usually let like the first 80 or so people in, then let people in when people get out to control the crowd. When u get in, just get what u went there for, get in line, and get out. I've learned the hard way being a dumbass and looked around thinking I'll find something I didn't catch in the ad, and had to deal to be in line for 2+ hours.
Cool app on the Fatwallet site to search for whatever you want (seems kind of slow to load results sometimes, so give it time) : http://www.fatwallet.com/black-friday/ Also on FatWallet, this guy's been doing this very useful Excel spreadsheet for the past couple of years : http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/black-friday-2010/1043355/
Camp out....and since it's walmart....be prepared to FIGHT people off. Walmart is the LAST place I'd ever go for a door buster. If you go, be safe. I remember a year or 2 ago people trampling each other in the door way and fighting for items.
Well, I live in a smaller city so I don't expect it to be as hectic as ones in metro areas. I thought that they did something like making people line up and taking numbers and other things in order to be more safe. Is that not protocol?
I dont remember, thats a good question. I have a family member who is a manager at one, I could ask. Thing is even if its a 24hr walmart, you're going to have to wait til 5am before they start selling the electronics
I presume they would. Since walmarts are generally 24/7 (not sure about thanksgiving), I believe they should hand out vouchers to keep people from just walking around in the store to grab the door busters. Just show up early. I have to work that day at Staples. Just saw their ad online. Thinking I'm nabbing one of the wireless keyboards sets, since we have a laptop always connected to the plasma....would make it easier to use and not have to get up.
I would purchase the same exact laptop the night before and just return it during the black friday hours and repurchase the item for the lower price. Speak with the store manager, if he declines just return it after the black friday hours are over with. Worked for me for the PS3 a couple years ago.
Fry's usually has the best door busters out of any of these retailers... but some of these door busters aren't as good as they used to be. The last two years, I've seen Walmart, Best Buy, Fry's, and Costco rip people off by actually jacking up the price from what it used to be to try and fool those uneducated consumers, especially for TVs.
