Guys, can someone put this Morey face Spoiler in place of the tiger in this gif ? (Even better if with BJ face on Dean Norris body ) @Rodman23 can you make this happen? I will rep you forever lol
That ain't right. There never was an up trend. It's straight down hill from start to end, cuz the deal keeps getting worse and worse
Has @basketballholic chimed in yet? What an embarrassing disaster for Armstrong. In over his head. Jopat continues his impressive streak of being wrong.
The thread we've needed all along . In a sea of treads , the BJ Armstrong appreciation thread is the hero we need .
If I were a conspiracy theorist like holic looking for cool seams in the fabric of the NBA's CBA universe to exploit, but took the anti-BJ position on these negotiations vs the pro-BJ position holic took, I would be saying Morey knew BJ didn't know how to write up a contract, but knows BJ needs to assure DMo trade blocking power for him to sign anything with Morey So, Morey wrote the Nets offer for BJ and said, if you go get the Nets to sign this, I will match. And that will guaranteed you get Veto Power on trades for a year. I can't put that in a direct contract with DMo, because we have a Team policy not to include no-trade clauses. But the matching will do it for you, per CBA rules ... see this clause in the CBA. I'll even write in a March 1st waive date for you, too, so that 2nd yr is pretty-much guaranteed BJ. OK, cool. Good compromise. I'll go get that signed, with all incentives, right? Yeah, I'll write those into the Principal Terms Then BJ dutifully goes and gets Nets to sign, and Morey matches, But ... psych, Morey calls league office and says "upon examining this Nets offer sheet, I think they wrote these Principal Terms wrong, we don't have to match all that, correct" League says, "hmmm, yeah you're right. Who wrote that offer sheet?" RFA is Dirty Business
Well, apparently he did get DMo a very easy cool $1m/yr incentives. Sounds like free money. But I assume this is to determine if they should cut him after the season, too.
DMo firing BJ makes me believe two things: 1. It was BJ who screwed up and BJ himself probably knows it. Therefore there really isn't any reason why he should hold any grudge against Morey when it comes down to the future handling of Hartenstein. 2. BJ being the one who dropped the ball, DMo doesn't have any reason to blame Morey, and might very well consider Houston as one of his possible free agent destinations. He loves the city, has a good relationships with ex-teammates, has mutual respect with MDA. There really isn't any reason not to come back.
Lmao@you blaming BJ. The real idiot is DMO for overvaluing himself. He's CLEARLY been on clutchfans where 95% of fans come and salivate over his 6pts a game. DMo was never that good to begin with
