I know people pay taxes for property in Mexico. My dad and mom live in two different cities and they both pay minimal amounts for the contributions. Less than $50. Not sure if it's the same in the bigger cities like Mexico DF, Monterrey, Guadalajara, etc. Taxes here serve a purpose, would be nice to eliminate government waste not just at the federal level, but at the state and local level as well, but overall we all get good services. Roads, utilities, parks, etc. Illegals have the ability to apply for an ITIN. I'm not saying they all do, since I'm sure most would speculate that this would be a way for the government to track them, but when my mom was here illegally she applied for an ITIN and was paying her taxes. I'm doing some quick google searches and the numbers support that illegal immigrants pay taxes. For the very least, we know they pay sales taxes and any sort of extra tax that's tacked on to any bill. So they pay taxes. Many do pay income taxes as well, although I'm sure many do not do it, I wouldn't argue that. I'm not sure how the data that has been gathered is really put together, but seems that illegals pay taxes. They do it because they also believe they can help their family back home by being in this country. It's the system abused, likely, just like any other system, doesn't mean that we need to punish the individuals that mean well, but I get it, that's how society works sometimes, some screw it up for the rest of us. I'm not going to lie, I don't know how women being trafficked and young men being murdered really fit into this equation, is not as if the child is born and immediately the parent has the ability to get their status changed to legal in this country, so you really have to explain that correlation to me. So what encouragement does an individual have of a young women that was brought over if they have to wait until the child that would be citizen has to be 21 until they can help the parents potentially gain legal status in this country? I'm not saying it may not be exploited, but I highly doubt is happening in large numbers. It's no different than how 2A supports are unmoved by mass shootings, it simply doesn't happen enough to make them rethink their thoughts on guns (I apologize in advance for using this analogy, I'm not trying to get into a 2A debate).
